Who else wants this game to have single player NPC?
I really have to say being the only survivor in the game makes things even hard. I know you can have more living people if you play online but really this game really needs other survivors that can help you out or try to kill you. The game does give you a survivor kill count so killing survivors would make this game a bit more better when it comes to survivors that kill people.

or at least after animations are done

Pretty much 80-90% of the negative reviews will mention NPCs and how it's taking them so long to implement.

They do have plans to implement those, the first being animals for build 42 after the first set of the animation overhaul dropped in build 41.

Animations come first. If they implement NPC's first, they would then have to go back and do a complete overhaul of them in order to accommodate the Animation build. That would be double the work and a waste of time as far as their workload is concerned.

After animations, every build will be introducing parts of the NPC systems we have built up until 1.0. It's our 'road to npcs' roadmap

Next 5 builds ->
* Animations,
* Hunting (NPC AI code integrated in simpler form for animals),
* NPC Scenarios/Encounters (Non persistent NPC set pieces and events, Kate & Bob reintroduced)
* Autonomous NPCs and groups (NPCs that can play the game, group with player and be ordered around),
* NPC Group/Faction mechanics (Personalities, group politics, inter-group conflicts, meta game and story interactions)

what for? I played with Super Survivors and all they are good for is to be a targets for shooting. Super Survivors + ORGM = fun. I see no reason why they are needed alive. Anyway, this game will never become a dwarf fortress or something like that.

Wh...What?

To Op, Yeah I want NPCs too, but I refuse to use that Super Survivor mod. It's just the broken, stupid NPCs from before and I would much rather have the ones that TIS have planned.

And what is the difference - to kill smart npс is not the same as to kill stupid one?

Why are you reducing them to getting killed? The point of them in PZ will be to tell stories that vary from gameplay to gameplay. If you just kill anything on sight, of course it won't matter but why play with KOS in mind all the time?

Sounds great, i just fear it will be a a few years, when this will be done.

Exactly this. We already have canon fodder. Why would I want NPCs that are just canon fodder?

I know that NPCs in game are great tool, especially if they can tell stories.

But I know that in games, as in movies, stories should not be told, but shown. And also I know that the non-player characters through whom the story goes, should be specials. For the sake of
the sympathy and attitude of the player. SPECIAL like npcs from fallout II or special in appearance like npcs from fallout4.
I need to fell sympathy and make attitude to npc. I hope that you will succeed in your plans. But, but I'm really not sure that only different stories and professions can make special and interesting characters. I may be wrong, but for now I think that way. You can get interesting stories, but at the same time, all non-game characters can remain the same and faceless. It can be.

After animations. Read the stickied thread.

Also, nice necro. Make your own thread or use one of the recent ones next time.

Cant wait for the NPCs to be released...and the uproars that will follow if they really play like a human would

After all, in most games, humans shoot first, ask questions second...
Very few cooperate or take the risk to cooperate...better be safe than sorry...so, shoot
Humans like to destroy bases just for the lolz too

First meeting with an 'awaited for sooo long' NPC....shotgunned to death....game over....ahahah
Back to forums for some cryings ;D
