How do you get the clock to appear in the upper right corner?

The last time I played this game was a year ago or more. At least then, the clock was always available in the upper right; it looked like an digital stylistic clock. Did they remove this feature? If not, how do you get the clock to appear.

This. An alarm clock in your main inventory will do it too, but it weighs a little more and doesn't tell you how many days you've survived on your character screen.
