"That makes you start with 10 points in fitness and strength"
For gameplay, your first action should be to get normal weight, find a backpack and an Axe so start at Westpoint and head towards the mall. Try to get some audio device to attract zombies, etc. At mall usually both present.
Stack up on books from stores in other cities and live like a Nomad. Always craft your house at different parts of the game, If you have a set up base everywhere in the woods you should be fine.
Now here is an exp guide:
Spriting - Just sprint
Nimble - Just nimble
Lightfooted/Sneaking - Just walk near zombies a lot. After 3 or 4 levels get a generator or smth, make zombies get attracted to it and just sneak near it.
Weapons - Just hit zombies a lot. For maintaince i guess anything what lowers condition can affect it so just hit walls or smth idk. Not impossible to level just takes hella time. I still have no idea why these skills are in the game, they don't help much at least not as much as i wish they did.
Carpentry - Just build a lot. Walls are your best bet.
Cooking - Just cook a lot
Farming - Just take a lot of cabbages and farm them. Make 1 space inbetween so that things like flies don't make them contagious.
First aid - Walk through broken glass(in new patch you can even walk barefooted on ground) and heal yourself a lot. For older patches i just usually walked through broken glass. When health got to critical i stopped hurting myself. ! Also this is an important skill if you break your leg many times as after 3 levels of doctor you can run with the splint !
Electrical - You are screwed, go and dismantle everything you see. ALWAYS READ THE BOOK NO EXCUSE.
Metalworking - Just dismantle metals
Mechanics - Just reuse car parts. Best is replaces lights a lot.
Aiming - Shoot a lot of zombies. Fun fact, you will not have enough ammo to level it up i guess.
Reloading - Hold R then press Shift + Tab and watch youtube videos while holding R.
Fishing - Just fish
Trapping - Bird traps are your friends. Just set up about 200 of them all 75 units away. you should get lvl 10 pretty soon.
Foraging - Just forage in woods.
Strength - By this guide you are already at 10 so no worries
Fitness - By this guide you are already at 10 so no worries
But each player have own preferences, if youre liking, keep that :)
sadly the late game becomes exactly like that. once you get all books/equipment etc it just becomes a game of watering potatoes and making sure to eat the right amount of calories, some next level boring ♥♥♥♥. luckly getting there is incredably fun and you basicly want to remove the getting there part.

omg thats a abonitaion!
u deserve to die in pain and agony after your belly explodes of overstuffment !!
There are much better games out there for simply building / farming / fishing...
Heck, even with zombies, this game becomes stale once you are really establshed...
Still, there is a small risk of dying...
Granted, im the type of gamers needing a reason to build and XP
Ive also a hard time keeping interest in games without any loss condition
So, no zombies isnt for me at all...
Havent tried it, will never try it
During one game I had a place on the rooftop of the little grocery store/warehouse just West of the Giga Mart in West Point. I had the stairs knocked out, had farms, water barrels, etc. I really didn't have to leave, ever. I could have stayed there forever and defied the, "this is how you died."
The only problem might have been boredom, but then just look out the window to see a Zed, and problem fixed. So the only real issue is 'player boredom,' me, which is why I think I started over at that point.
After a certain point, there's really nothing to do anymore. But maybe when the NPC update comes out in the next decade,
