I can see the viewpoint, other non zombified characters roaming the world adds a significant change to everything, because it would be best to assume they are intelligent enough to break into your home, hunt you down, and burn your base to ashes.
As far as im concerned, the moment they add NPCs to the game is the day i play this game exclusively multiplayer, and me and all my friends are going to huddle into our own little corner as we try our best not to get mauled by every other living thing in the world.
And uh... guns will finally have a proper use, since they aint worth much against zombies.
I guess for the anti multiplayer crowd it would make it fun.
Same here.
I bought it when it was Project zomboid, not Project NPC's.
How can anyone NOT play because there isnt NPC's in a zombie based game ? Im new to this conversation/topic but whats the big deal ? Is there a video somewhere showing the game being 100x better with NPC's that i havent seen you ?
7 days to die just got 1 NPC, a trader and ive got 1700 hours in that game, 1650 b4 i even knew an NPC was even going to be added.
How does a few ? NPC's make so much of a difference in a great game about zombies ?
If it is simply a feature they announced as something to be added in the future thats hardly anything to call a promise. The future is subjective. Yours might be tommorow and theirs is likely closer to fianl release of the game.
In all cases their definition of the word trumps yours, and if you make unrealistic definitions up they cant hardly be held responsible for that. Your entitled to play when you find the game intresting of course but when they decide the NPC's are ready is entirely up to them : )
Out of curiousity what will the NPC's bring to the game that is currently missing in your opinion ?
Honestly, I'm of the mind that if it's going to be done wrong, it shouldn't be done at all. I saw their earlier versions of survivors, and (not ♥♥♥♥ talking the devs here either - they're surely better than myself) it was done wrong. They just sort of seemed to exist and served to end a run when they would inevitably fly off the handle.
Not that I'm against NPCs. Quite the opposite, in fact. I'm certain that done well, they could (along with the zombies) be a core aspect of the game, but again, done WELL.
More worried that they didn't drop a single word on animations this Monday :/
