I honestly dont think i have a reason to play anymore.
I use to just be a trials player. i loved pvp but never saw a point after ranking too quickly in comp so i went over to trials. at first i got my ass beat. like every match. then i went and LFG'd just to get spit on because after that ass beating my K/D was .6 in trials.

Then i started soloing and trying again and again and i can now go flawless every week as long as i have about 2-5 hours of play time. It was my own personal raid. New weapons came out that always challeneged me to get them...

Then bungie catered to people who refused to get better at pvp before taking on the most competitive pvp experience, and now the guns i worked hard for are being handed out like candy on halloween. My sense of accomplishment over the past 2 or 3 years of toxic behavior from "good" players in trials rejecting "bad" players of trials erased like it never happened. I could get every single gun in there in a day and never need to play again.

So now i never need to grind or play it again after 1 day a week. Which.. saddens me so much. And the guy next to me who never went flawless has a godroll because he won 1 match and got a .57 ttk messenger when i spent 5 weeks trying to get a perfect godroll.

RNG is RNG, some people get lucky and some people don't.

That's just RNG dude. Ultimately Bungie wants people to play trials and if there's no loot in it then they can't really accomplish that goal. It's healthier for the playlist if there are more people in there that feel like their time is being rewarded. Plus, the prestige aspect is largely done through emblems, titles, and adept weapons, none of which were made easier by the increased rate of loot in trials.

Bungie wants people to play so they give out loot, trials isn't some kind of exclusive club for the best players anymore and the loot such be accessible to everyone.

But if you want exclusive loot then its still there in the form of adept weapons, flawless shader, and flawless weapon and armor glows.

Trials isn't an exclusive club, Lighthouse is. Y'know, like how it always has been.
And you betcha that if all the blueberries left trials and it really was skilled players only, we would see trials die again, like it was for the first year or so.
People just have tunnel vision with these kinda of things I guess.

It used to be before matchmaking, weekly participation reward, saint-14 getting the reputation system, and engram focusing. You had to get 7 wins to get the weapon and there was no adept version because you had to get 7 wins just for the basic version which is likely what the OP is complaining about.

I think he's actually referring to this change made earlier in the week:

Maybe play the other half of the game to balance things? Raids, GM's , dongeuns, etc.

I am :) i use to bust my ass for trials loot, now all i can bust my ass for is the word "adept" on a mod or gun. i never really found adept to be better than normal weapons. I also never found trials to be dead or dry due to player count. But yet people are telling me that a 10-15 second que time means its dead. Trials also imo doesnt make new weapons or good enough weapons CONSISTENTLY enough to continuously farm because bungie fears accidentally making a new competitive pinnacle weapon grind (luna, NF, redrix,) so they def take their time.

i do. I just never enjoyed it like i do pvp. People constantly say "i want my time rewarded"

But imo trials was the pinnacle of reward vs time. You dont get instant gratification and i find children and entitled adults (or still children) to be upset by that. Theyre facing players and not bots that stand in one spot and shoot. There is no bigger challenge. and now, to me, its ruined by those same people who think they need constant rewards just because, instead of working hard to actually feel that reward. Knowing not many people could have done what you did, in order to get said weapon.

ive talked to my pvp buddies about it who also said "maybe try raids" but they agree. getting a trials weapon will never feel like an accomplishment now. which was the only thing keeping me coming back. now it just feels like a hand out. I feel no different from any other player, as any other player can do a raid.

Get over it, trials was a dying mode because so few played it but now that it actually gives out loot and has match making big surprise, a lot more people play it.

If don't like the hand outs and then feel free to sweat with 2 other people and play "actual" trials going flawless against other 3v3 teams and get that adept loot and cosmetics to stand out from the casuals.

If you really just don't feel like playing anymore then don't, I get that you feel like your time was wasted and its not worth playing anymore but you're also kind of gate keeping.

一款游戏而已不用那么的认真,玩玩就行了这样的命运2这款游戏做的还可以游戏的品质还可以是一款不错的游戏。:steambored:随便玩玩就行了。

To me loot isn't really something to measure yourself against since there's always a lot of RNG behind it and you never know if someone just got lucky or but hours and hours into getting their roll.

I do understand the sort of prestige around being a trials playing and getting that loot though. My most played seasons for trials were season 11, 12, and 13 (height of stasis meta) when the games were full of recoveries, carries, and cheaters. When battle-eye and the trials rework came around in season 14 the mode lost a lot of its luster in my eyes simply due to the fact that you were less of a distinguished player for going flawless and having that loot at that point. There was never really a question as to whether or not trials was better since it became more rewarding, and accessible than it ever was before that point, but the luster of a high end mode was lost a bit. The conclusion I came to at the end of the day was that it was ultimately healthier for the the mode to be this way and that I'd need to find a different measuring stick for pvp skill. Personally I think guided glorious and the ascendant emblems have taken that place for me now.

oh im definitely going to sweat in trials just to gate keep adepts, but it was never a dying mode. you just think that because your weak never gone flawless ass and your similar buddies couldnt compete with pvp dedicated players. Point blank you ruined someone elses gaming experience from your own mindset. If i do stay, my mindset will be to gatekeep low kd lobbies so no one can get flawless, then when all the little PVE dedicateds, either have a trials weapon because a win or 2 will be inevitable, abandon it for adept raid weapons, and those that want adept trials abandon the game mode because trials weapons were never must have god like weapons. ill quit the game and smile as i read more about how trials is still dead. Adepts were simply desired because stats. in the beginning, i never gate kept. gate keeped? anyway, i was helping other people go flawless because i trained from a .8kd with 200 matches in trials to a 1.3 kd with 400. so i had pity on low kd players because i was/am one. my kd is still low. skill level though is on 2.0 (how else did you think i went flawless...solo?) and its my only vent for players like you that ruined my fun experience that took me away from the real world :)
