Report a translation problem
If people are busy shooting enemies during a fight they're not going to be healing you. It isn't solely a heal gun and it has some great pve combinations like subsistence and incandescent so chances are people are probably just using it as a new gun. Unless someone is specifically trying to be a healer I think its going to end up as a meme gun.
Why does it look like a auto rifle? Hmm....you might be right on this. So weird because I hear the sound of fireworks of somekind and the boost of healing gets on screen turning my borders brighter.

Lets also not forget its archetype:

Problem I find is that its hard to heal anyone when being really mobile is part of their play style.
-That and the UI doesn't track ally health unless you look right at them. Im more used to other MMOs outright telling you the party's condition all the time.
It's a good gun in solo PvE content if you want a quick fix to stay alive. Just shoot a few adds and you're back to full health instantly.
