What's everyone's thought on the pathfinder system? specifically for the ritual playlist activties?

The Pale Heart pathfinder system is extremely good and easy to get done and I like it a lot, however I can't say the same about the ritual playlist one, it seem to be designed to force you to play activities you don't wanna play, there is always one, two or three nodes that requires you to specifically play Gambit to get done and it sucks.

Bungie claimed that the new system lets guardian play how they want, but the current system doesn't, you can't complete a path if you play only Vanguard playlist (the only playlist I enjoy farming)

I hate to admit this, but I played more Gambit games this last 2 weeks than I did during the entire Wish season, and I was miserable throughout the entire thing, hell I even quit games after I get my objective done.

Very easy fix to this is to not have objectives be tied to a playlist!!! it's extremely simple and they already have that implemented, just make ALL nodes be able to be completed in ANY playlist.

Last row should have 3 options being a strike, gambit, or crucible path so we stop getting a "I don't want to play gambit" thread everyday.

Personally I like the new system, as I can close 50-80 percent of the progress with activities that I like (also Vanguard), as for pvp there are only minor quests that are closed in 5-10 minutes in control

With the streaks and the focus weeks, I personally stick to a single type of activity and grind out one reset at a time. I don't feel the ritual pathfinder is much use to me, but then again, I didn't really bother with the old bounties either, I did a few for the guardian rank challenge, otherwise I only care about the reputation ranks.

I think forcing players to repeatedly play content that they don't like is a horrible decision. And the forums are filled with people who agree with that.

I don't mind that there's additional rewards for playing those things, but having a whole new system that forces it as well is dumb.

Just let people play the content they want. Drop the vanguard/crucible/gambit specific requirements and let any "ritual" activity work for any of the nodes. Nothing is lost, and people are happy.

It's been Skyward and that other dude posting thread after thread about it. It sounds like a lot of people if you don't pay attention to who you're replying to. Skyward has like 6 front page posts up right now complaining about everything.

Pathfinder is cool. If anything, it's better than what we had for multiple reasons :

- Don't have to pick up bounties from the tower
- Don't have to pick up rewards from the tower
- If you really hate Crucible, you can skip crucible and still get 3x pinnacle gear.

That wasn't a thing. They were randomnly rolled dailies or randomn.

If you hate the entire game, that's on you to play something else. Also : this is the same argument as "I am a solo player". "I don't do PvP" isn't a personality either. Gambit isn't even PvP.

Well, i had to do pvp to complete mine.......i HATE it......it should be built on OUR input.....random is so boring.

I mean, void damage, solar damage and so on, vanguard, Gambit OR crucible, WE should be able to CHOOSE.

I mean they do always say 'play your way', but they never live up to it...do they?

I want to preface that I play all the ritual activities.

It's cool but I find it annoying that I can't progress it while only focusing on one activity. Like when I'm playing trials but I can't finish the path it feels pretty bad. The best part of the system is being able to complete paths almost passively, which is why it works so well on the pale heart, but with the ritual one you have to go out of your way to complete it which kinda defeats the point imo.

I don't think they should 'gut' the system, but it does need a major overhaul. Don't force players to do PvP (Gambit is PvP dressed in a different flavor) and all will be fine.

gambit 100 motes is not 100 motes.

it calculates a perentage of deposited motes instead.
that is dishonest
it woudl require 15-20 matahces to complete.

50 damn kills with abilities is 5-10 mins?

It counts banks, not motes. Each time you press the button.

You get extra points for sending a blocker.

Making the ideal way to finish it banking at 6 motes and sending a small blocker. You can do that quite a few times per matches, so you might need 6-7 matches total to finish it.

Or

You can just make sure you have the most motes bank and win and then it goes to 100% instantly.

It's a neat system. It always bugged me to have to go to different npcs to pick up bounties. However, I think this system should have been in addition to bounties, not replace them.
