No, you still get matched with flawless players. It's just matchmaking prefers your weekly skill and doesn't match you anywhere.
You'll still see a "X player has been granted Mercy" pop up here and there on your flawed card, meaning the dude is still on a flawless card.
You fear that you might ruin your team flawless runs, but you can also think the other way: you might help an opposite team toward their flawless.
More seriously tho, give it a shot. PvP players love to trash their team, but they hate when the trial population is low as much if not more.
Play the best you can, perhaps strive to get better if it's your thing, and you'll be doing your part.
