unsure of what to do after i hit soft cap

I have no clue what to do after completing the soft cap, I see there's those crucible bounties I can do to get better scored gear but is that all I can do now is complete those to get better gear then need to wait till they refresh so that I can play again? Or what else can I do to get better scored gear?

When you hit the soft cap then you can start going after powerful/pinnacle/exotic gear objectives to climb further to the power/pinnacle cap. You should see a bunch of yellowish star/badge icons on the map if you want to do that otherwise do story campaigns, grind out strike rewards, do daily bounties and seasonal challenge for season rank xp, get into raids or dungeons etc. The game relies on you setting your own goals on what to grind for.
