Edit: But if we're being real, things to look for
1. a scandal right now that 5000-series cards are literally missing ROPS, use software to confirm this, may be an issue
2. Heat? Could be an issue with thermal throttling, check temps on both CPU and GPU
3. Power consumption may be causing throttling, make sure your PSU is up to spec
4. Power connector is a point of failure, make sure it doesn't melt and cause issues down the line
5. Make sure drivers are up to date
6. You're using an absolutely overkill card on a game that is nearly ten years old
How bad it is to be envious of others, and to play with coffee makers on PC, hahahha
It's not jealousy, it's financially irresponsible, just like the same people who buy the Ultra phones from samsung every year, or the Pro Max phones every year. You're not getting good value out of it, you're just wasting money
A GPU and a phone from three years ago is still going to be good for another three years
For the record, a 7900 XT is not a coffee maker, thank you very much
That graphics card is a piece of cake, I don't want it for free, I bought the 5080, which beats the hell out of what you use...Keep dreaming about the drivers on your graphics card, which are surely better than those from Nvidia, sarcasm...ahahhahaa, you have nothing to do with that, it doesn't compare to the 5080, nothing more to say, cry all you want, but remember to buy tissue for the crying, ok, greetings
Right because the
1. Missing ROPs is totally a fluke and not a problem, despite nVidia being able to pull a very specific number of people affected...which means they knew it was a problem to begin with and released the card anyway
https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/gpus/nvidia-rtx-5080-suffers-from-similar-missing-rop-defect-as-5090-and-5070-ti-report
2. The new power connector has a terrible history and nVidia knew it was a problem and decided to double down on it and surprise surprise, people are having to RMA their 5090's due to them literally melting their computers
https://www.theverge.com/news/609207/nvidia-rtx-5090-power-connector-melting-burning-issues
3. 23-bit CUDA support taken away? Not a good look, which leads to my next point
https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/gpus/physx-quietly-retired-on-rtx-50-series-gpus-nvidia-ends-32-bit-cuda-app-support
4. Proprietary software locked to a brand? Not good either (PhysX I'm looking at you, why do you think it wasn't more widely adopted? Because nVidia made it run only on nVidia cards)
Not to mention the absolute god awful price gouging. Scalpers took advantage during covid, nVidia saw that they were willing to pay that much and raised the prices accordingly (and don't get me started on the 5070 fiasco)
I'm glad you enjoy your card, really I am, but don't think for a second you're superior by insulting other people, yeah?
If you want to throw money at a new gpu just for the next number then go for it but envy and jealousy indicate a level of want or desire neither of which are the case. I mean sure I'd love a 5080 but facts are at the present time two things 1) I don't need it leading to lack of desire 2) even if I wanted it I'd probably still go with a 4080 because its been out for a year and stuff works with it better. Newer isn't always better like I said from the start, drivers have issues, games aren't optimized for it, and other issues like the above person talked about.
If you feel you are experiencing any issues with your graphics card, please contact nVidia Support.
