One of the preorder sets literally has a Darth Vader mask as part of it.
*shrugs*
Bungie has proven over and over again that they fail to follow this simple rule. They had almost the perfect design state with Destiny 1 in Age of Triumph but failed to communicate the strengths of Destiny 1 to the Destiny 2 team. Then we got D2 Vanilla on launch, which required an entire DLC (Forsaken) to fix the game back to its original complexity only to make it less and less complex over the years in favor of casuals.
If we have to blame people specifically long-term, it's the casuals. They wanted a game that's easier and they got it. Because they are like toddlers that eat up every ♥♥♥♥ as long as it makes airplane noises as the spoon closes in.
And that includes taking ♥♥♥♥ and swallowing it like the Eververse as well.
