Packet loss when overlaying steam.

I am going to have to turn off steam overlay to mitigate possible issues for the future. But right now when i press shift and tab to pull up chat window my game crashes do to pacte loss. Just a heads up for people that maybe turning off overlay will fix this

please correct me if im wrong because i dont want to mess you guys up

dont use steam overlay in destiny 2 trust me its fked proper bugged messed etc for me it restarts steam everytime i open it you can turn it off specifically for a game when you right click the game and select properties i recommend you to turn it off for this game as explained :D some other people will say otherwise like eh its a you issue bla bla nah man since multiple people have this its not so yeah turn it off for your own good :)

And why can't it be a you problem? Just because multiple people complain about it doesn't mean there isn't a common cause like faulty software or hardware.

Neither of you have stated anything about your situation so for all anyone else knows it could be as simple as still being on Windows 7/8 or just really old hardware that is being left in the dust by Steam updates. There is a reason they warned everyone for a year to make sure your system was some what up to date for all of Valve's plans moving forward.

You could also be running some other add-on or overlay that when triggered by the steam overlay causes battleye to close the game.

Across 4 different pcs running 3 different operating systems I never had a problem with the Steam overlay, I only disabled it on the oldest PC to squeeze every little bit of performance out of it.
