You dont need the dungeon really. I love d2 but i refuse to buy these separately or any ultra super deluxe editions even if its cheaper. Thankfully the loot aint that special.

tbh I just look at the game as a subscription service. You basically pay the same price as amazon prime. It isn't for everyone, and it definitely is a more costly game to enjoy, but at least it's still be subscription wise than other MMOs like WoW.

You could also buy (or upgrade to) the Deluxe Edition, and then the Dungeons are included.

If you want to go the ala carte path, you certainly can. It offers the flexibility to pick and choose which content you wish to play and pay for. And also the chance to space out your purchases over a year. But if you end up buying everything, you'll pay $20 USD more.

The Deluxe bundle is more expensive up front, but less over all (again *IF* you intend to play the entire year and utilize all content).

I got the normal edition and then upgraded to deluxe. I enjoy my content. Dungeon is harder this season/more complex but everything else is just fine for me.
