Why people doesnt use orbs
i realy dont get it. it takes litterly 1 mod to install and after that you litterly ♥♥♥♥ orbs. They are so usefull you can use charged with light builds, for void sub class you can activate your life steal skill (Forget its name) and each time you pick an orb it decreases every skill's cooldown.

But for the last week i did over a 20-25 dungeon with random people, and this morning i finished 21 strike for excotic cyper all with random people. While i generate avarage 30-40 orb per game i allways saw other players do around 3 to 6 which this is because of their supers.

So can somebody explain to me how people can ignore such a usefull source ?

Then why litterly no one create orbs besides their super ?

Matching subclass orbs is only 1 Energy.

Was it matching subclass? OK, but even with this mod I am forced to use a matching weapon.
The kinetic mod also has the problem that Stasis weapons aren´t counting, another force.
All the orb mods should max cost 1 energy.
I don't use Siphon mods because I don't have/want to. Simple as really.
Orbs are bad.

Wells are good.

Good players use Wells, not Orbs.
As a warlock, most of my supers are bad or situational, so I'm really only concerned with maximizing grenade energy for stasis turrets or fusion grenades. So the bulk of my mods revolve around more grenades. Orbs require you do two things:
1. Kill enemies
2. Run up to them
In harder content, the rate at which you kill enemies is reduced, and running out to collect orbs is generally unwise.

I do usually run the kinetic multikill mod for orbs, though, since the orbs can be handy for getting Charged with Light.

Like what im also using well mods heck i have 5 well mods installed all my 5 piece thats no excuse unless you are only playing pvp. But for pve after well mods most important mods are orbs of power mods or am i missing something huge here.
Ashes to Assets, Hands-On, Ammo Finder, Inferno Whip, Power Preservation.

And then there is also the energy cost and element requirement.

A lot of players don't ever upgrade their weapons/armor to max which in turn would provide many more options to procure a loadout that in turn produces orbs. Not everyone is aligned with all the things the game has to offer. For some, the idea can even be a little too complex. Meaning all those mods and how they interact with each other confuse them. Sadly it's true.

Me, not so much. I myself love to have everything maxed out to take full advantage of every possible buff possible from creating additional orbs, to constant wells, and staying charged with light at all times to increase weapon dmg.

Just not everyone does this. In most cases TBH I believe it would significantly change a lot of players' perspective because in turn it would heavily improve a lot of their struggles otherwise.

I wish more players would take full advantage of the mods and maxing their armor/weapons. Though, is it true that Masterwork weapons still create orbs or is it restricted solely to the Helmet mod?

Orbs are definitely useful. I propose the devs make it so orbs just get generated in general so we don't have to use them. Much like they took away having to find kinetic ammo all the time.

In closing, I wouldn't measure the production of orbs or lack there of against the game or other players. It's still enjoyable.

That's what I thought. Someone else mentioned in the comments that every other kill produced an orb with a masterworked weapon and I question the validity of that claim.

I didn't even know there were mods for this till I came back to the game a couple weeks ago. I mostly just log in do a couple of dungeons and get off. I do not really go over my gear or mods that often. Even when I do I do not own that many mods and I do not know where to get them other then the daily shop deal.
Orbs are cool but you can get charged with light and there is mods to sh*t out wells with literally everything, melee, energy weapon, super, grenades, and so on.

Meanwhile for Orbs you only have Supers, Multikills with weapons, and that's it.

It's much easier to sh*t out Solar Orbs with a Hammer titan, literally dropping 9-12 wells in a few hits. Or the same amount of wells with a Void Grenade for any character.

Not saying Wells are OP since they don't give super energy, but the rework of DAMAGE giving Super Power now, is OP anyways.

The only class that used to get a buff on Super power was Hunter, with precision hits on solar tree you could quickly get tons of Super power. Everyone else had to spec into character attributes and pickup Orbs to get super energy.

The rework makes it so that damage AND kills give super energy, and in some activities and circumstances [Warlock Well] you get insane amounts of super power, much much much more than ever before.

Orbs and Wells both have their place, but it feels like Orbs are mostly necessary in Raids for some classes, since you always hear a Bubble Titan and a Well-Lock talk about "let me go get these orbs", Orbs and Wells are both circumstancial buffs. With Wells being substantially easier to generate for all classes and all builds, compared to Orbs.
I rather just stick with well mods and font mods (font of might/wisdom), picking up one single well causes my intellect go to tier 10 for a moment and gives me a good amount of bonus damage.
just because you sweat your brains out in a pve mode doesn't mean everyone else does

You used to able to get an orb to drop on every multikill with a Masterworked weapon. That was the main reason to Masterwork a weapon IMO. At some point Bungie removed that feature and made the Orb generation Mod focused.
