Farm new exotics
Hi, can you explain, if I got new exotic (Caliban's hand) can I farm it over and over again in Legendary lost sectors? Or it's only drop once?

You cant farm a exotic over ang over again unless you have already obtained the whole class like weapons, on the other hand you can farm things from exotic quests over and over again

Lost sectors aren't on a knock out list so you can get repeats even if you haven't unlocked everything.

Gonna need a source on that, I've only ever gotten the new exotics from lost sectors.

I can't give you a direct quote from Bungie as it's a nightmare to search for but Lost Sector's are weighted towards the exotics you don't have, I don't believe it was ever clarified if this was all exotics you don't have, just the lost sector exclusive ones you don't have or just the lost sector exclusive ones from the current season you don't have.

This weighting means most players will see the new ones first, especially those players who have been playing awhile and don't have a backlog of missing exotics but they absolutely aren't guaranteed.

I still think they're weighed towards new stuff and you can't get dupes of you can get something new or at least for a new season. Until proven otherwise I'm going to assume people getting dupes don't own the expansion required to get new armor and just see missing pieces in collections while not realizing they already knocked out what they could get.

That's something that is almost impossible to prove as you'd need somebody who owned an expansion but still needed exotics from it who would record from launching the game, showing expansion ownership, showing owned exotics, completing lost sectors till they got one or more exotics all whilst beating the RNG to avoid the weighting and get an old exotic first.

From my experience of going through and getting practically all the exotic armor in my past year of D2 I am 99% sure you cannot get the same armor piece twice until you have unlocked all the armor pieces (for that slot) once.

On the one hand, it does feel as if it's weighted towards new exotics (perhaps they have a higher drop rate in comparison to other exotics?) However I ran the quarry about 9 times on a warlock and still didn't get some shadowkeep chestpieces I didn't have in my collection (mind you, I had mantle of battle harmony before this). I still haven't gotten my god-roll Mantle of Battle Harmony... :steamsad:

Shadowkeep exotic armor come from completing the campaign don't they?

I just mean until shown otherwise I'll continue to believe that lost sectors only give out armor you're missing until you've gotten all that you can get. Like you said earlier bungie definitely said something about lost sectors being weighted towards new exotics assuming you are missing more than said new exotics but I don't remember them ever saying or implying that the lost sectors have a chance to drop something you already have if you can get something new.

You believe wrongly. I got an Orpheus Rigs (which I have had many copies of since the game came out) while I was farming Star Eater Scales. It is exactly as has been said, you are heavily weighted towards exotics you don't own, but it is absolutely not guaranteed.

Well I guess I don't have any reason to doubt you but in my experience I've always gotten something new.

look it up, i believe it goes on a rotation, and as described in said legend or master lost sector, only leg armor etc based on they day. i also believe only a few pieces are in that rotation for target farming although that one may be off
