how to git rid of aim assist trash
I heard that you can play this on PC with no aim assist ruining my headshots with guns. Aim assist is cancer, I shouldn't be forced to aim for the chest just cause it's an assault rifle, I literally could never play past tutorial on PS4 because of that crap making me run out of ammo every time I tried to get headshots with the starting assault rifle.

But my hands are gimped and a controller is comfier, and I don't have any gamer nerd keyboard and my mouse is tiny for my hands. So am I just screwed or what? I can't understand why it even enforces an auto aim to begin with.

The assistance in Destiny 2 is bullet magnetism and counter flinch.

If you shoot for the body you're shooting already at the wrong place, shoot at the head and it will be generously magnetized for you.

I heard VentureBeat is hiring. Dean Takahashi needs a coop partner

But things move and jump around, the cross hair will inevitably go to it, and I never tried aiming for a body, and it constantly missed headshots by fighting where I was aiming and trying to decide where it should shoot for me. It would literally pull my crosshair, away from the head, and down to the body. My friend claimed back then its because thats what the assault rifle does, or is for, or something stupid.

I cant understand why people NEED aim assist in anything. Every shooter these days seems to have it forced in, with not even an option to disable. Why NOT have an option to disable it?

I dont understand what venturebeat is.
Are you saying I'm in the wrong(somehow) for complaining about auto aim? How could you enjoy it forcing you to aim certain areas on the enemy or doing the work for you? How can you actually have trouble aiming to begin with with a controller or anything even? Honestly, people who NEED aim assists probably really shouldn't play games like these anyway. But whatever, its just odd that you cant even disable.

Because controllers are strictly worse than mouse for aiming, so they need a boost. I feel you on some games making it too strong and it feeling wrong, but you need something for controllers to reasonably compete with mouse. That isn't only for PVP either, how hard it is to aim affects PVE balance as well.

You know you can buy difference sized mice right? if the "average" commercial size mice are too small then find a bigger one. Unless you're a very large person with huge hands then a normal gaming mouse like a g203 should be fine. For gaming you should stay away from the budget/everyday mice as they tend to be compact for a variety of reasons. They even make "vertical" mice and single hand gaming keyboards.

To answer OP's question, you can get rid of aim assist by using SteamInput to disable the native controller support and remap the mouse/key bindings to comparable buttons to the standard controller layout.

I accidentally learned about this while a friend was trying to show me how "great" it was to stream Destiny 2 from his PC to his AppleTV.

PPl gonna hate, but it should be in options, enable or disable. With mouse OR controller.

I've got some experience in this, as my mouse surface is very very small. I actually need it to be able to score or do anything pvp related, sometimes pve related things as well. I used to use keymander on xbox because I cannot grip a controller (physically), nor can more a move a mouse across a vast service. Since I've moved to pc, I'm afraid to use it. Do not want to get banned or whatever. If something is detected. A simple on or off would, would solve this for me. I get that people argue over superiority and whatever. I am under average even with assists. It ticks me off so much I couldn't even get content (weapons) because of people using cheats. Try playing on a 3 in' square surface, with your arm tied to your chest, and missing fingers to grip.

Let alone being forced into a pvp environment. (this is another matter all together, it seems it's one aspect of "destiny" they do not want to change) They just want to sunset, the entire game it feels. Instead of actually evolving. (feelings)

Using anything to enable the controller aim assist for keyboard and mouse is considered a bannable offense. There was a scandal when a Twitch streamer was revealed to have been doing that last year I believe. I know other streamers that have stated they use gamepad because they can't manage without the aim assist.

I find it amusing that the built-in aim assist is to such a degree that it becomes a cheat to have it enabled on keyboard and mouse. I believe there are even weapons that become meta or "meh" depending on if you're playing on controller or KB/M; or rather, if you have aim assist doing the work for you.

Yup I was afraid of such a thing. It's why people like me go into depression so easily. The entire world just wants to park in the handicap spot. I've been trying to evolve and use a dpi change button, but maaan. I'm telling you, it's difficult. I only have so many thumbs. I've decided to just avoid pvp all together, and even that's nigh impossible.

This season, the only season I bought (for me, my son tends to take my money rather fast). Who would of thunk, snipers, and scouts....... I like to think they named the exotic scout after me, but then I get delusional as well.

No they aren't. I do just fine with getting headshots in plenty of games.

edit:Also as I said and keep saying the auto aim makes it much harder for me, it is entirely unnatural. It's like surrendering your hands and fingers to someoen else. It also pisses me in that it assumes I can't aim. It's enforcing stupid proofing on me when I don't need it and it makes my gameplay worse.

And there is literally no reason they shouldn't let you disable. Absolutely none. Auto aim ruins shots. It also makes games casual. No skill, its stupid.

gaming mice always have those retarded buttons all over too you know. Also I do not enjoy the feel at all of keyboard and mouse. It's awful. I don't own a desk anyway.

Oh so I can trick it somehow into letting me use controller without auto aim? How would you do this? I'm a tad confused.
