Players with power level 1300 and above
I am quite new to Destiny so am sorry if this is a stupid question. I do understand the basic powerful and pinnacle power cap which is 1300 and 1310 for this season respectively. From what I understand there are only certain limited activities every week that will award these gear but somehow I have seen people with 1300 power level and even above in the first week itself. Even after completing all activities I couldn't get close to 1300. How is it possible that some people have reached it in first week? Is there something I am missing?
Thanks.

#1 Primus engrams are like powerful rewards and there is no limit how much you can get.
#2 take into account the seasonal artifact that grants power bonus
#3 play with all 3 characters and you will get a significant boost.

The competitive playlist has a lot of powerful drops. If you are good at PvP, you get a boost of 10 to 20 power within a day or two by just ranking up in competitive. I have seen people hit 1300 on their first character this way.

So the people with high power level means they have just spent a lot of time playing the game(crucuble drops and challenging combatants) after exhausting all the playlist activities drop?
Also, about those 3 characters, I have heard something like that but does it really work? I have 2 characters right now and both of them are at equal power level even after I followed those youtube guides about rotation of characters.

I see. I am staying away from PvP because stasis is ruining it for me and hackers. So basically what you are saying is that playing a lot of crucible can get a player to the cap?

All the high level people i know did multiple characters this way :

1 - do all powerfuls on character 1
2 - farm blues on character 2 until light is near character 1's
3 - do all powerfuls on character 2
3 - repeat 2 and 3 on character 3

Some very skilled players also played the pvp competitive playlist to earn rank up powerful rewards. If you can hit legend/5,500 glory that's 10 to 20 light level boost.

Only the competitive playlist has those powerful rewards which allow you to level up fast.

Otherwise you will just need to wait until reset for the weekly pve powerfuls to reset.

Play your other characters first and leave your main for last so you get the power level boost from weapon drops on the other characters.
alot of people were already 1260and up before the season

You couldn´t have higher gear then 1260, everything else was from the seasonal artifact.

Yes and yes. Just do what Lammah said.

The power cap was raised back at the beginning of the last expansion, Beyond Light. People have been working on getting their power level up for 3 months during season 12. :cozyovercooked2:

I don't know if it was already mentioned (don't want to read all the comments tbh) but for every strike you do (and i think crucible and gambit too) you get one item that's 1 powerlevel above your current average max powerlevel. But nonetheless it's a ridiculous grind :D
