People that rush to the finish in strikes
I'm new to the game, and so far I'm liking it, however something that bothers me a little is when I get team up with people that just rush straight to the finish.
I think it's a shame, cause the game has some very interesting level designs, however I can't appreciate them as much when I'm being force respawned to my teammates that rush ahead.
Anyone can explain to me why people do this?

there are quests that make you play like 300 strikes so most people myself included speed run them to complete the quest asap

Omg, im so glad someone finally decided to bring this up. I've been struggling with the same thing. Most people I've been teamed up with tend to speed run the entire spike and it ruins the entire experience for me. :(
Strikes I don't mind the speed running. It's the or was the 1220 Nightfalls I hated where the speed runners would skip Champions causing you to miss out on the platinum finish.
The only fix is you find a like minded fireteam. People run through them because they are tedious.
Imagine playing the same strike over and over and over and over again over the past year(s), it gets boring after a while as you pretty much already know everything. Yeah, quests are one reason why people rush.

Unfortunately there is no way to disable matchmaking for strikes, so If you wanna do all the strikes - with no rush, I honestly suggest you to find two other people, invite them in your fireteam then do the strikes.

I didn't like that at first neither, but after so many strikes you start to rush them.

Eh there are ways to avoid matchmaking. One is do it with friends the other I'm pretty sure you need to mess around with network stuff.
Literally all the game is, is repeatable content. If you play the game for a month you will do that strike you wanted to do over 20 times. This is the reason why people speed run it, all they want is the quest rewards. Don't hate the player, hate the game for making them act that way. There is no reason to take your time once you've seen the sights.
Now imagine playing for 2 months, all you've done now is the same content over and over again. The same voice lines over and over again. The same exact spawns, locations, cliffs and sights. Literally nothing changes other than whatever gun they decided to lock behind doing 200 1080 no scopes in Moon Strike number 4 (which you already did 20 times to get a rocket launcher or something).
Yeah man... if you've been playing since D1, for example... this weeks Nightfall was the Sepiks Prime strike, which was the first one in D1... no way we're strolling through that to look at the flowers. But I get it. You'll understand soon enough.
It may not specifically be speed runners, it could be that people have done the strikes so often they just get into a certain pace of speed and don't think about it.

I know I'm probly like that even though I enjoy blowing away 100% of the enemies when able. To newer players I'd appear to be a speed runner when I'm not.
Because strikes are the exact same every time. nothing changes in them so the faster you get what you need done done. the faster you can go play what little replayable content there is remaining. Its gotten to the point that it feels slow if you dont finish a specific strike in under 4:45

Because most people have played each strike over a dozen times and just want to get through it.

Because they are the same strikes we've already done umpteen gazillion times already. We know them by heart, we're just doing the bare minimum grinding necessary, and the sooner we finish, the sooner we can log off and play a better game.
When a teammate falls in battle speed runners leave them behind. while they run solo because , they played a million times so no sense being nice with those that fall behind.
They will NEVER share a foxhole with my peeps.
