Verbs, exotics and champ mods are weirdly inconsistent.
Wicked has a version of chill clip on it which gives it two intrinsic champ counters through slow and freeze, it however will get anti-barrier from radiant but not from the mod.
This is like Conditional which also has two champ counters so doesn't get the third but also gets radiant pierce.
That seems to be some peoples opinion on why they don't work. However we've had things like Riptide which is a legendary with three counters or a sniper last season with three counters.
I can understand with weapons with actual built in anti-champ like Divinity but not with weapons that have exotic mirror perks of legendary rolls.
The thing that annoys me more is they set up metas with the mods in the artefact which point to some exotics like the new stasis breach loader but then hold us back from using other exotics for builds because mods don't work with the weapon.
The biggest argument that could be made on why it shouldn't really comes down to champs, and even without the mod it is still useless against a overload Minotaur. Letting it have anti-barrier for 1 episode wouldn't make it a unstoppable nuclear terror (the overload Minotaur already is that).
Overload is granted by Using Slowed Effects (Stasis) which would be part of the "chill clip" perk, multiple hits slow. The second would be Freeze (Stasis) which is the Unstopable counter.
So two champ counters on one weapon, granted Overload is harder to trigger but it is there. Usually I'll fire 5 or 6 shots at an Overload and one at a red bar and switch bar, seems to prevent the freeze and trigger the stun.
As I say personally given the heavy weighting to scout and status there and it triggering with radiant just let it have all 3. While it's not the best exotic out there it's still pretty solid with some builds, cold snap warlock is perticularly good with turret and Osmi, should be even better with the new exotic to lock down an area.
