Hey there. When you look at the raid icon, there is an orange triangle close by it, this is the matchmade 'guided game' option. You have to select which mode you want, you'd be a 'seeker' if you're looking to learn the raid. Good luck with it!

probably worth noting that almost no one uses guided games, and you'll be sat in the queue for hours before you possibly find a team, if you do even find a team. there is no real matchmaking, you need to find a pre made group, try here, this is one of the biggest D2 lfg groups on discord, there's a sherpa channel for people looking to learn the raids too https://discord.gg/d2lfg

Raid, dungeons, and grand master nightfalls do not have match making because they have mechanics that require coordination or at least people with brains in terms of dungeons.

Raids do not have matchmaking due to the extreme complexities of the activities. They require a good amount of communication and teamwork to conquer mechanics that a matchmade team wouldn't be able to accomplish under most circumstances. Because of this, you'll need to put together a team. You can do this on Bungie.net or through various Destiny 2 LFG Discord servers.
if raids had match making just ...okay try to coordinate room full of toddlers with out using your hands or speaking and tell me how does it work for you?

You don't unless you want to try your luck with Guided games only to see why matchmaking doesn't work for raids. Just use the various LFG's that exist through either Discord, or the D2 phone app.

Raids do not have normal matchmaking due to the large amount of teamwork and coordination they require, something that is rare to find through a simple matchmaker.

The closest you will get to a raid matchmaker is Guided Games. If you're a solo player looking for a raid team, choose Seeker, though expect it to take a while because Guided Games is rarely used barring maybe at the beginning of a new season.
