Another alternative for melting anything like champions or bosses is by going with a sword.
They might not lay a massive instant hit, but where they make up for it is in ammo consumption, rate of fire/ swing speed, interrupts (in pve) and a steady rate of damage.
It would be interesting to see the DPM numbers between say Gjallarhorn, Sleeper and Wordline on a single target.
Nice, ill check it out. See if I can find any sort of information on Wordlines dpm while I'm at it.

Both are updated for anniversary patch, steam doesn't allow direct doc links anymore. Wordline is glorified adaptive frame without DMG perks.
Thanks for the info, I had a look on the first link (maybe I overlooked it) but I wasn't able to find any sword data on his spread sheet. The second link though provided some very useful stats
Yeah I just saw under the sustained damage column with his unlimited ammo calculation Wordline appears to sit pretty average, he has noted though that's only using light attack values. Where I noticed all swords seem to really shine are in Total Damage & Damage per Mag columns, having some of the highest numbers seen. Interesting.
Ah cool thanks, I'll go back and have a look.
I'm currently addicted to Wordline's blink attack man.. not just for the movement perk but also the aoe damage it does as you blink. I usually run it on my hunter with the sixth coyote, the combination helps me dodge knock-backs or aoe's from bosses and then charge right back into it.
My titan's currently running with Eager Edge on The Other Half, I can't deny it's a lovely perk but I always end up opting for Wordline on the hunter strangely enough.
Plus, You can bait out the invader with swords and have easy cleanup, I've used a sword in gambit before and It's fun just blocking with it and running towards a guardian and them being confused as to why I just won't die, Blockings got its uses, and It can make you tank a lot of damage, I'd love to see someone test stuff like stasis resist, stag, and sword blocking (all of which are easy to pull off) when an invader comes around, Maybe it can allow you to tank a rocket.
In other words titans literally break the game. Probably why bungie is fixing gambit in s16 most likely to give the bosses more hp or something else.
