Bought DARCI and was very disappointed. Is there any hint?

There are many videos how good DARCI is. So I went to Xur and bought it immediately! And... Its damage is at average sniper rifle level. Headshot does 12k damage only and can't even break the shield of Kabal boss. While Queenbreaker causes 22k, Crossbow - 28k and Leviathan breath - 34. Speaking about time - Crossbow can kill Kabal boss in 7(!) seconds while DARCI breaks only half of life bar from one loadout and it takes 8-9 seconds.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong??? It's way better to have Crossbow + grenade launcher, they can wipe out 2 Kabal bosses in 15 seconds.

not all weapons are suited for the same things. DARCI is especially suited for precision boss damage, due to unique perks on it. Queenbreaker doesn't even do half the damage in that situation, Leviathan's Breath is sadly also way too slow for any boss dps situations.

Are you sure you are using it properly? It's supposed to do more damage the longer you zoom in on the same target.. If you zoom in for a few seconds and then fire your shot, yeah it won't do as much.

youre definitely using the gun wrong if you arent getting good dps with it. its not suppose to be an a regular gun. its for dumping the whole magazine in to the head of a boss.

Get used to that feeling .
Most exotics in this game are either outright trash , situational or nerfed if they do prove to be powerful .
Bungie promise more powerful , even op weapons , aka the recluse standard weapons , once sunsetting takes effect .
We shall see , only don't hold your breath waiting .

That isn't a crossbow, it's a linear fusion rifle. With that out of the way, try DARCI out with some precision hits on a strike boss or something. It should be dealing good damage.

I get it. An Arbalest is a type of crossbow. That's what he means.

Right now, Xenophage is the king for DPS. DARCI is mostly situational for killing Insurrection Prime in Scourge of the Past.

I mean for Titans and Hunters it's the second best general choice. For Warlocks it's really bad.
King of dps is still Izanagi + Wendigo, although it is relatively hard to pull off.

There are better situational weapons like DARCI / Whisper in Scourge. 1k in GoS for warlocks etc.

You're regretting a purchase from Xur, really? You should buy all 4 items from Xur if you need them just to check them off in collections so it lowers your chance of getting a duplicate until you have them all.

It is bad because you don't have the catalyst and this guy up there was right the longer you zoom in the more damage you do that's why the catalyst improves STABILITY.
