Nvidia 516.40 drivers causing freezing at load

Anyone else getting freezes at loading screen with these latest Nivida drivers? I might have to do a driver roll back.

I too get this, i can get to the main screen then when i hit enter or click to get to the character loading screen it will freeze.

I have seen other post on this, and yes, it happens intermittently with me.
This may not be actually related but...
If I go to verify files when this happens it says some files failed and would need to be reacquired. I keep verifying until it gives the all clear and then I can usually play ok.
Rollback of drivers has been stated as a fix though.

I get the occasional crash at any loading screen. Which one will it be? Hell if I know, they're all danger zones for this.

516 lockup on my system. rolled back to 512

Generally if your gpu works and you don't need a driver update then don't get it for example I only bothered updating to 512 for the Hitman 3 RTX.

I've gotten at least 5 crash to desktops just today, all drivers up to date too.

edit: now it won't even let me see my characters... crashing to desktop still. having error code Weasel every 1.5-2 hours was bad enough that I stayed away from raids, but now this... going to start with verifying files.

edit 2: verifying files seems to be working for now. made it through one strike without issues so far.

edit 3: made it through 3 regular strikes, 4 nightfalls, and a few more mayhem crucible matches without issues before I got off for the night. so some might just need file verification, others might need to roll back drivers, verification worked in my case.

as someone with AMD who just updated i can no longer alt tab while fullscreen i think its a destiny 2 issue

yeah roll back the drivers. the new one crashed my graphics card even being only on desktop

I was having the same issue, haven't came back after turning off full screen optimization. Right click Destiny 2 in task manager, properties, compatibility. Hope this helps

Same issue here, freezing during start with 516.40 solution Rollback to 512.95

New nvidia drivers are bugged to hell. I had a lot of issues in very different games. Had to rollback.

it is most certainly the newest Nvidia driver did a roll back and all of the issues i had with not only Destiny but other games went away after a roll back to 512.95
