The future of Destiny
Is uncertain. We are in a situation that for the first time limits our ability to make informed decisions about what will come next. Will we ever see another Raid? Is there going to be any new paid expansions? Just to name a few.

They make Bungie a lot of money. There will be more expansions and raids in the future.

TFS was an overwhelming success and so I doubt that Destiny is going anywhere. It's just been a while since we didn't know about the next expansion years before hand since they announced Beyond Light, Witch Queen, and Lightfall in bulk.

They have literally confirmed several times that we will be getting more expansions and raids

Destiny 3 has already been in the making since the Witch Queen.

Probably something about the name "pay back" I'm sure, Putting the name "Destiny 3" on a project board at Bungie HQ qualifies as "being worked on."

That's like saying Elder Scrolls 6 has been in the works for 6 years speaking of, didn't Todd Howard infamously say something like "Starfield has been 20 years in the making" or something silly?

They announced Destiny Frontiers already. Like before TFS shipped.

I just find it difficult to think that Destiny 3 has been in the works, from a company that angered a lot of people by vaulting all of year one content to not do Destiny 3. They would not have done Destiny 2 if not for Activision.

They're definitely not actively developing Destiny 3, they just got off with all hands on Final Shape and now have the episodes to flesh out and work on whatever Frontiers is and on top of all that they're going to shift people back to Marathon and Gummy Bears or Matter if that hasn't been canned. At most I think there is a small team concepting or protyping aspects of Destiny 3 to convince the suits.

there was a leak that said destiny 3 payback was actually a large engine upgrade to D2 and frontiers was the start of them adding old D1 content like Venus into D2

At this point, just give it to Hello Games, honestly...No Man's Sky had a sci-fi vibe, it's a start.
Ah yes given enough time people forget about any dumpster fire, No Man's Sky and Hello Games totally didn't have their own disaster with Sony.

Remember the early days of that dumpster fire, Pepperidge Farms remembers.
