How bad The Iron Banner's mote collecting game?

I personally don't like the gambit's shoot and mote collect type game. I know many people doesn't play because of it. So why the h*ll did they done to this to iron banner.

Also unbalanced teams. I don't think it's about team cooperative or individual skills. It's about lobby matching 100 pinging people against 5 ping players who are sitting nextdoor the servers.

The mode is good. People are just stupid.

Also stop being bad and just run Powerful Attraction on your class item. It collects crests, even through walls. Put two on and it goes to 18.5 meters.

I think it's not about being smart. Everyone can put Powerful attraction, but do they want to?
I'm not judging people here to be smart a22 or not.
It's a game, fun or not fun maybe? or collecting crests.

Because it is a second bonus week of Iron Banner, if you missed the whole week of the traditional control game mode then that's on you, they didn't "do anything" to iron banner.

It's pretty bad in the sense that people are completely dumb about it.

The amount of games where at least 2 players banked 0 motes is insane. It's always 1 or 2 guys at the top carrying. I had 37 score in a game, 2nd below me had 16 with two peeps with 0.

Edit: If I wanted to bank stuff, I'd play Gambit. I gotta say if hey just spent one Episode focusing on revitalizing Gambit, it could be Excalibur. So much potential for that mode to make a grand resurgence and be the best part of Destiny.

the other thing i hate about gambit is sometimes you get the non aggressive players or that when they get to 15 motes they dont deposit them.

If you play it like you play Gambit, you'll be at the bottom of the score card.

It plays very differently. For one : bank your motes often, don't stack to max like you would in Gambit. There are no blockers to send, and the goal is simply banking motes. Holding on to them puts you at risk of losing them.

Also, don't run to grab motes. That's how you get focused fired and killed. Make sure the field is clear first, even if that means a few motes despawn.

Then make sure to actually bunker up, as it makes it easier to farm the opposing team rushing you if as a team you hold a choke near a goal.

And always rush the goal during Hunt. If you don't, the other team can easily overtake you.

I thought it couldn't get worse but this IB mode is just laning. At least control zones encourage people to move around the map, while crests mode punishes you for moving. Guess I won't be touching PvP until next week.

It is absolute trash. I need 9 more wins for my title and I think I'm just going to have to wait. People are camping the bank and none of my team sticks together but the enemy team is up each others asses. We should not be forced into playing this garbage mode for Iron Banner rewards..
