good time to jump in?
i read that this was the end of the end of the first part of destiny. is this a good time to jump in now that they will be starting a new one for lack of a better phrase?

Following. I played at launch but stopped.

Ya. Games pretty good right now.

The new player experience is still confusing and you're probably need to watch a bunch of youtube for the story and certain mechanics but that doesn't seem to be changing anytime soon so now is as good a time as ever.

Like N33MA said you'll need to watch a 4-6 hour Youtube video if you care about the story. The original story line has finally ended and it appears that "Episodes" (not seasons) will be more containerized stories without a huge over-arcing narrative.

Is it worth jumping in now? It's better to jump into a season/expansion release earlier as it helps to justify the large investment rather than trying to buy all the content with, as an example, 30-60 days left before the next expansion release. If you don't already own the 30th anniversary pack you're in even worse shape as you have to buy all the other expansions (which doesn't include the seasonal content from them) just to have the dungeon/raid access.

Honestly grabbing Destiny right now is probably a terrible idea.

All the expansions are on sale right now so I actually completely disagree with braVo

That's actually a great point they're 85% off right now which is massive for someone getting into the game.

I should amend my statement but this sale isn't going to last forever so I won't.

I picked up this game 4 days ago and I already have 52 hrs total ingame hours and that's pure playtime. Got the dlc and everything on sale. Fun game pve or pvp-wise.

Ye if you did not play at launch it will never be worth jumping on. Games make no sense its pointless and mindless because they removed most of original story leaving massive gaps that ruins the experience all togheter. Game play is good looting is fun, but because game makes no sense its not worth it. Better get halo collection

strong disagree, they screwed up the presentation but it still tastes good. It's just they're gonna kill their playerbase by making it too confusing. Destiny raids are pretty unique in gaming.
verbtime Jul 7, 2024 @ 11:40am
i bet that like 80% of the playerbase does not care about the story and never has
destiny has never been focused solely on the quality of the story
Everything is on sale right now, probably the best time.

i have played for 5 hours and im just going where the market tells me lol im so confused.

the story doesn't influence you in-game at all (nothing you do has actual consequences) so just sit back an enjoy the gameplay because that's the best part of the game

shadowkeep campaign is free, so that's what you'd do to start do the journey milestones until you hit rank 5 and you can do vanguard playlist.

To unlock Deepsight and begin Weapon Crafting, play through the first few missions of The Witch Queen campaign on Savathûn's Throne World. These missions are free to all players.

The campaign dlc's are (in order):

shadowkeep
beyond light
witch queen
lightfall
final shape

shadowkeep is free but you still need to purchase if you want to do the raid, you have to beat each campaign to do its raid, raids do not have matchmaking but you can apply to join parties in the fireteam finder under the social tab. Another popular fireteam finder activity is the nightfall mission under vanguard.

also you need a mic to get into the raids there are some parts requiring communication while you play.
