PvP is better imo as there are less abilities and less special ammo.
The entire Hall of Champions is going away including:
Shaxx and Arcite quests and Shaxx vendor rank rewards
BRAVE chest to give additional weapon drops
Parade armor chests that give high stat armor for new/free players
Weapon attunement focusing
Super Black Shader
"Shiny weapons"
Title Seal
The only thing that is staying is the game mode itself and it randomly dropping the brave weapons without the chance of being shiny.
I am okay with paid seasonal content being rotated out because I understand that is what I "sign up for" but the hall of champions should be a permanent free the play feature that I can actually point friends to and say look at this cool thing we can do instead of another of Bungie's "too bad, you had to be there" moments.
What, someone at Bungie would have a mental breakdown over the fact that new players could continue to focus weapons from Onslaught, get armor, and get a black shader in an understandable way, rather than a "someday later, sometime in a couple years, we haven't figured it out ourselves yet" way.
Key word being "at a later date" which means its being removed in the first place and we don't know when it would come back but if people come back for Final Shape and then go looking for Into the Light content because they heard so many good things about it then they're not going to find it because "whoops you had to be there."
But why? We've been asking for a "new rarity" for a long time as something new to chase like artificer armor but they're taking it away so soon solely to get people in the game now to farm them and every day people are play is another day they think about Final Shape.
They're already removing the attunement option so even if shinnies stayed they would be even more rare so what is the harm in keeping them?
I understand all your points about the gear and game mode still being around and accessible but that doesn't change the fact that Bungie management is still deleting content that has no reason to be deleted.
