Is it the end for the Crucible?
Just finished up reading an article in Forbes magazine regarding some inside info from a previous employee at Bungie and its not good. When Bungie laid off over 100 employees apparently it was literally the entire security department. Lana (who is a previous employee and if ya dont know who she is then you're not a Destiny fan) was interviewed and gave some pretty bad statistics...about 30-35% of the player base is currently involved in some form of cheating. This falls under the entire group from uses of Xim and Cronus to all out net limiting. GernaderJake himself made the statement during the interview that if things dont change, PvP in Destiny will be dead. Again, if ya dont know who he is then your not a real Destiny fan, no offense. I am just curious to know what other peoples thoughts are on the current state of affairs and does it have a future. Please only thoughtful responses. If you want to read the article just google Forbes article about Destiny 2 and you'll find it. For some unknown reason i cannot post the link.

Honestly I only enjoy and play PvE bc of all the hackers and exploiters so it doesn't really effect me

well that explains why she was laid off. there is no way there is anywhere near 30 percent of the population cheating in pvp, my last trials card i didn't encounter a single cheater
i think all the time the original gameplay of destiny both 1 and 2 was in pve

Ya that sounds like a load of ♥♥♥♥ there's no way that a third of the playbase is cheating. If that were true it would be practically impossible for any normal player to solo in trials which they clearly can.

I'm going to guess there are some caveats they're leaving out to have the click bait stat because they could be including either false positives or minor/insignificant "cheating" they don't care about. My guess it that stat is really "30% of players have been flagged at some point" either because we've used an auto clicker for vendors back in the day you pretty much needed an auto click or other qol macros like auto dismantling or they could be including heavy lag, bad connection, vpn restriction, or legit net limiting. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if people get flagged for having a random awesome 4-5 k/d game after a string of sub 1.0 k/d games. Only they know what they mean.

Also worth noting that repeat cheaters will buy the game again inflating the "cheater base" stat so again they could be playing with words and 30% of all accounts created have cheated could be more believable than 30% of active players.

Because Forbes got a stick so far up their walled garden gjhallhorn they try to force you to be as "naked" as possible to read their articles to either fill the page with ads or push their subscriptions in addition to getting as much info about you as possible to sell. Vpn? Blocked. Adblock? You're not welcome. Third party viewing or links? No way.

Could also be flagged for having a cheater on your team maybe? I know that Bungie's policy updated to ban people qued with cheaters for a prolonged period of time back when cheater carries were more popular, so maybe they flag people who have any games with known cheaters?

That too 100%, they've said many times that fireteams with cheaters are flagged and if you're with them multiple times you're basically a cheater yourself because you're riding them.

So you're talking about an article 5 months ago? PvP seems fine since then and the "PvP strike team" seems to be fine now with all the constant pvp changes and we're getting 3 new pvp maps next week in addition to new game modes.

Sad to say but if you take destiny PVP serious even a miniscule amount then your a fool. Crucible has been ass ♥♥♥♥♥♥ by cheaters for 4 years and nothing is going to change that thats just the fact of the matter.

Cruicible has been dead for years......i already know im trash but hell when some classes out play other classes/builds in PVP and the constant fight to "balance" a class system designed for PVE. They should kill it and just stick to PVE and Gambit. With that being said cant really attract new players (From Cod, Apex, or BF) due to the lack of balance in Crucible. Yea you got killed by a Luna Howl but with what roll? Only real way to fix Crucible is go back to Destiny 1 loot where its all static (PVP gear only) every weapon has the same rolls and armor has the same stats

PvP is dead for me a long time ago. Even when a play some matches, is to some kind of obligation task. Zero fun, really. Competitive I even try anymore.

bruh you don't even know your own history. Destiny 1 had random rolls everywhere with only a select weapons being static at all.

me when a free-to-try game with an incredibly unbalanced and poorly designed PVP mode has cheaters ( not a big surprise )

this game was DESIGNED for PVE, PVP is just an afterthought
