Sunsetting May Be Gone But

Soft sunsetting is still very real. I can not find a single valid reason why Bungie didn't make any weapon with an origin trait enhanceable, nor why they can't go in and just apply origin traits to all the weapons that have just been sitting there for years like gnawing hunger, just give the damn thing Disaster Plan. There are multitudes of other examples, but I know it's just falling on deaf ears.

The answer is that they don't want to spend time coding enhancement into Gnawing Hunger, because there are like 10 people who use that gun. They only want to do it for new stuff, and for certain notable weapons.

So, with all of the work needed to fix issues, and the work for anything new, they should put all of that on hold to update old gear, that most of us don't even use?
I used to REALLY like my Gnawing Hunger, I don't remember the last I used it, or why it's still in the vault, ok, I know why it's there, I am a bit of a hoarder.

Welcome to power creep that made old gear irrelevant even without sunsetting. If you want new powerful gear then get new powerful gear. Take the most obvious and recent example of mountaintop, even though they brought it back its gimmick is almost entirely pointless now that we have the new strand rocket sidearm that is basically mountaintop with a 13 rocket magazine and I haven't seen anyone use mountaintop since Final Shape.

The funniest part of all this was the streamers telling their idiot followers to delete all their old crap before the DLC dropped. And all the ones who did.

Some older weapons did, in fact, become upgradeable.

Just not ALL the old meta.

Anyway.... no reason to pretend this game is much outside of a FoMo instigator with 'episodes'. You should know this... as long as youve apparently played.

forgot they only had 3 weapon devs and they are the ones personally doing bug fixes, guess you just know better

You're not nearly as cleaver as you might think. Do you see a bug free game in Destiny 2? I don't. Do you think updating old weapons is more important than fixing the bugs? I'm not worried about the old weapons that were sunset, I long ago dismantled all of them with a couple exceptions. I have been playing the game the entire time and have replaced the old stuff. It's a looter shooter, go shoot and loot.
