im gonna bite.....how is anyone going to know what the DLC is like befores its even released? The logic is baffling

Well on the storefront it says first episode of the final shape. That should tell you enough.

hate to be that guy but with it changing to episodes instead of seasons yea it will be payed wall by the seasons

What are talking about?

Episode are replacing seasons but that doesn't mean that The Final Shape itself will be pay walled by episodes. Expansions exist separately from seasons and Bungie themselves has said that the episodes are stand-alone stories that continue from the conclusion of The Final Shape.

You can guess by the quality of the writing of the previous DLCs. If Lightfall is the same, then it will suck.

We're back to the usual "Bad guy needs to die" story setup, akin to WQ, so I don't think it will have the same issues LF had in that area. Don't expect and lengthy exposition dumps about the new powers, just "you have prismatic now yay". They took the feedback from LF it seems, and are making sure the story is as straightforward and single-pointed as possible.

Gameplay seems to also be WQ-tier, but that one remains to be seen the most. The game is in a great state already, and a "new" subclass + a bunch of balancing will improve that a lot. New enemies and great environments means it might just be their best DLC ever. Only worry in this department is that day 1, the story will not have any ending. You have to wait for the raid to get the full experience, which might be divisive depending on the difficulty of said raid.

I'm willing to bet it's going to be an amazing DLC. But I also liked LF a lot, so who knows.

Playing Destiny for the story is like going to see Fast and Furious for the acting....

We all know its going to be a "one and done" campaign and then back to the real game of doing random activities for loot.

Never once have I replayed a Destiny Campaign or expansion for the story.

They blew any chance they had when they killed off their one likeable character in Cayde and now they bring him back for member berries.

Bungie even specifically said this for Final Shape!

Exploring The Pale Heart through The Final Shape campaign will feel like a more focused experience than ever and will have a clear path for players to follow. It's the first linear destination in Destiny's history and will feel both familiar and unsettling. It will evolve along with your actions, and the enemies plaguing it will escalate their aggression the more you advance on your mission to stop The Final Shape from coming to fruition.

But the campaign is only one part of The Pale Heart. Once completed, the destination will open up, and new secrets and activities will be available. Players will be able to explore it thoroughly then, causing a reaction that will a change the world surrounding them.

Translation: burn through the 3 hour campaign and then play the grind you know and love.

Because it's basically the end of destiny (unless Sony changes their mind), the dev's wanted to make it the hardest expansion to date.

You do a campaign/raid and then its just farm the same crap as every other destiny dlc.
