3rd person view

I remember the game had cool cosmetics I could buy from their store back then. But it made no sense to me, since all I saw was my weapon.


So, is it possible to switch to 3rd person now?

If you take a sword, game makes third person view, it also goes like that if you're using some supers

Idk how much you play destiny 2 but you'd be surprised how much you actually are staring at your inventory screen

Tbh you actually see yourself way more than you'd suspect. I mean sure you're not constantly staring and admiring your armor but:
character select
inventory
social spaces like tower
sparrows
emotes
loading in to some activities
cut scenes
transmat/revive
death cam
pvp match intro
swords, supers, other abilities
some activity mechanics such as orb throwing/dunking
some activity unique weapons such as scythe or eye/relic laser
activity end screen and commendations

There's probably something else obvious I'm forgetting but the point is you do see yourself a lot more than you'd think and plenty of chances to see yourself and think "damn I look cool." Honorable mention also goes to seeing the shadow of your silhouette running down some hallways, I always find it fun when I randomly see my titan silhouette go down a hallway especially with fancy shoulders or helmet.

Sure that you might not be dressing up and presenting yourself for others like a peacock but I'm sure you still want to achieve a certain look and be eye catching to others whether its looking goofy or cool.

Thanks for taking the time to list all that.

Seeing this makes me wonder even more why they didn't just add a full 3rd person view already. Doesn't seem like there is much work left to do to accomplish it.

Sure, there is, the same reason people in real life like to dress in impressive outfits, to show off to other people.
