destiny 2 cannot handle overclocking

everytime i do any kind of overclocking on my 1080ti the game crashes as soon as it boots up. so my question is: is the game just unable to handle overclocking or does battleeye interfere with overclocking?

1080 ti is getting old, 4060, TI model certainly, has it beat now. pascal cards received a displayport firmware update, and there's a lot of bioses for those cards out there. I didnt have any issues with overclocking the 1080 ti, then again i have over 80+ top 1 spots on 3dmark. know what you're doing.

Not every game is the same. At this point you need to rework your overclock as its not stable. Im running the Fury X myself with no overclock just fine you should be able to as well.

If you're using something like msi afterburner or riva tuner then destiny doesn't like those.

i play this game for 2 years with 3060 doesnt have problem with medium high settings and my fps is over 160+, i think u should upgrade ur system or try to change ur settings to medium low

I don't think you understand that his gpu is a bit stronger than yours so I don't think the problem is performance, his problem is the OC which is probably not working because of MSi

A 1080 is not better than a 3060

A 1080 Ti is, but the 1080 Ti lacks some features that the 3060 has.

upgrade to at least a 2060. i get 300fps at least with it no joke :)

Games crashing when you overclock is because you overclocked your gpu running it at a higher frequency than it was built for. On top of that, it's one that's already old (and presumably worn) as hell. If you want to keep that antique you should probably not push it further.

Devs don't want to put in the work with dx12 and would rather gamers buy 2000$ gpus to brute force results.

OK, I overclocked my 2080ti, game runs fine, maybe your overclock is not stable?

Could that 2060 teach my 2080ti how?
I mean, I get over 400 in orbit etc if I don't cap it, but I do cap it, but I don't get that in game play @1440p
