Are false bans still happening?
Firstly - No, I'm not banned. I don't want a sweaty mod copypasting a generic reply and then fatfingering the lock button.

I'm just wondering if false bans are still happening, I've been wanting to play again mostly because another friend asked if we can do new content together. But I don't want to risk my account. I know Bungie used to (and seemingly still does?) give out false bans - rarely, but still too commonly to be comfortable, and there's seemingly no way to appeal/contact them about it. The appeal link mods like to copy and paste doesn't work.

I regularly do game modding (for other games, not Destiny). I don't want to get a false-positive from battle eye's intrusive malware "anti-cheat" (Does it work? People still flying around in Trials like they got creative mode.) because of unrelated modding tools I have on my PC. Wiping my hard drive, or using a virtual machine is not viable for me. Bungie forums, Twitter, Reddit, and even these very steam discussion forums are full of horror stories of people being falsely banned, with convincing proof, and being ignored. You think false bans are impossible and they don't happen, until it happens to you. Then it's impossible to contact anyone about it, and everyone just thinks you're a cheater.

Has this ever been addressed?

Keep your cheats from other games turned off and you won't have a problem. The game doesn't search your computer to see what you have... it only looks at what is currently running so you can have cheat engine installed but don't have it running.

Did you read my post past that? You didn't specify your other stuff so I kept it simple. It doesn't sound like a false ban if you're running software that trips the anti cheat so of your real question is "is the anti cheat still very sensitive to anything running in the background" then the answer is yes, then off everything not needed for Destiny 2 whether it's reshade, msi afterburner, riva tuner, cheat engine, weird third party overlays, mod managers, dll injectors etc. A lot of stuff just won't work itself or will prevent the game from working but if you leave cheat engine or other stuff like wemod from other games then you're going to trigger battleye.

Yes... your post wasn't very long haha. What's your problem?

I shouldn't have to feel like I'm treading on thin ice playing a video game when I'm just an innocent player, with no intention of cheating whatsoever. Game modding doesn't mean "cheating". If I'm going to risk a ban for having a mod manager for Lethal Company, I'm just going to pass on Destiny.
Hi there!

For more information regarding the ban and restriction policies, please see the below article: https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360049517431-Destiny-Account-Restrictions-and-Banning-Policies
