Shards still used?

Didn't they say they want to get rid of them? I thought the start was with current season.

They're more-or-less obsoleted now; the only use I've seen is trading them in for Glimmer at Rahool, with maybe being able to buy Raid Banners with them. They're still dropping, though, and afaik they're not being completely removed until Final Shape comes out...

...so if you need enough Banners to fill your inventory, you've got time. XD

I mean, i still need them to upgrade gear lol. I thought they were gonna get removed, so i converted them all. Now i suddenly do need them to masterwork gear haha.

Yeah, but what does slow roll out include?What is being removed? What is being kept? They wanted to make the shards obsolete since this season, but you still need them to master work, which is pretty important if you ask me.
I don't mind some sources because Google didn't give me ****.

Yeah fair, they didn't mention master working armor, so i guess, it stays. I don't think they should have said that it starts with Season 23 without mentioning everything, got confused on my part there. Fair enough.

Upgrading/Masterworking armor and weapons? Like one of the most important aspects of the game?

My armor's been Masterworked for ages and I barely bother upgrading non-crafted weapons. Considering they still drop ingame, though, it's still possible to actually USE them as well.
