For people who have social anxiety preventing them from dungeons/raids
I feel your anxiety. I know what it's like.

But you can do this. You don't need to use a mic if you don't want to. I've grouped with learners who type to communicate; I've grouped with learners who mic to communicate. Both work equally fine. In fact, typing questions because you're confused can help people with mics who are too embarrassed to speak.

If you want to try using a mic but lack an energetic attitude and it makes you feel like you're gonna be judged, don't let it stop you. No one cares if you sound dead or never react to humour. No one cares if you can't speak in coherent sentences either, it's fine. And no one cares if you're a boy with a girly voice or a girl with a boyish voice.

Take the first step of downloading Discord and join the "Destiny 2 LFG" server. The channel you're looking for is labelled "Find a sherpa". "Sherpa" just means teacher. It's called sherpa because the game's lore refers to teachers as sherpas.

Many Destiny 2 teachers shun on teachers who aren't patient and kind. It's rare you'll come across an unkind teacher.

Also, all learners are extremely shy and embarrassed, especially if you end up as the only one failing the team. But for every fail, each retry is another chance at figuring it out, no matter how slow you are. You might not even figure it out and give up, feeling like you've humiliated yourself in front of others. Try not to let it get to you, and try again the next day.

For myself, I struggle to remember things. But once I've slept, I wake up with a portion of things learnt, a portion somewhat learnt, and things I still have no understanding on. It can take multiple sherpa lessons. You'll also find yourself a lot more relaxed on the 2nd day of learning because the portions you've remembered, and somewhat remembered, means you're not as overwhelmed when trying again.

Hope this helps someone with social anxiety. :)

You can have the most depressed, dead-inside voice and no one cares. You can misunderstand, get confused, keep messing up, no one cares.

i've help bunch of people who dont like using mic, but atleast they can type and know how the dungeon works.even they dont know i just open mic and explain it to them. it just takes practice. sure some people can learn things by doing it once (i am not that person) others need to try and fail many times.

Raids have gotten "easier" since Vow of the Disciple and since then you could easily get away with not having a mic and I regularly see "no comms" runs assuming you're not so broken that you can ask questions and type out simple call-outs for the encounter.

Just please do not go in blind expecting to be taught without voice communication. There are tons of guides on youtube about anything in Destiny so try to learn before you try going mic-less and for the love of the tower bring proper load-outs.

I felt the same but, once I started talking, that feeling disappeared. Now, I just snug the back of my head into my pillow, headset on, potato mode, and I feel as comfy as usual.

People never talk/type in game though, which truly blows my mind.
I've been invited randomly to several clans that preach 'helping' players do end game content, but whenever I talk in the clan tab.. nobody speaks, despite several players being online.

my advise: do what u want as long as u don't actively mess with people u can do watcha want. Maybe just go on auto party Vanguard strikes and be sure to switch loadout DURING the run

Maybe also don't take it personally if people shoot u in the Face or point the gun at u

is all in good fun. The problem i see with many gamers is that their upbringing destroyed them and now they can't freakin play a video game no more

I have social anxiety when it come to playing pvp, I just hate feeling like I am disappointing the players that are trying there hardest, but lately I stop giving a dam, and even stopped using the gear that I have earned through doing dungeons, the two raids I have gone through, and other difficult content. I do not know, but as I play, I find my self just empty, like I lost something, I stopped playing for a bit, but not by choice, I take care of my disabled family member. Now I just feel like no even trying anymore, and feel even worse when the team looses, pvp is not the problem, but I do not know how to get better, and yes I have looked up strategies, and tried them, the pvp player is on a different level now, and I can't keep up.
