In your quest tab, click on the quest (it's the intro mission for Witch Queen, which can be started from the director on the Mars/Savathun's Throne World node) and it'll track it and give you a nice green dot on where you're supposed to go
Edit: The mission name is called The Arrival
Also if you're spending ten hours on one mission, you might be doing something wrong. You can finish arrival in about a half hour
But yeah, there is no "resume" aside from the campaign checkpoints which appear when you're reselecting the campaign mission from the mission node inside Savathun's Throneworld. You can select "from checkpoint" or "start from the beginning"
You either Finish the Mission or you don't and restart it later.
Yeah, that sounds like the Introductory Witch Queen mission.
Escape->Directory->Quests
Look through the quests over on the left, One of them should be for Witch Queen, see what it says.
If that doesn't work, then go to the Destinations screen and go to the Throne World, then over to the Mars Enclave and see if you've got a "launch" button. It's also possible that you may need to select a banner in the enclave and launch the mission from there.
That mission takes you through the Cabal base on Mars, then up into Savathûn's ship. You have to find your way through the ship. There are some puzzles, and a lot of Parkour, and some fights. Part way through, you get a piece of a weapon. And at the end, there's a boss fight (naturally).
After that, you go back down to Mars and talk to Ikora (the head of the Warlocks). It is a fairly long mission, but yeah, if you stopped in the middle, you might have to redo all and/or most of it.
SOME of the Witch Queen missions have check points, and if you have to stop and restart, you go back to the last checkpoint. But I don't recall if that one does.
For most things, yes, but for dungeons,raids, and newer campaign missions (like the one OP was describing) there are checkpoints.
