Destiny 2 vs Warframe? Anyone out there play both?

I don't plan on stopping Destiny, but I tried getting into Warframe this week and the new player experience is really horrible. Has or does anyone play both games and is it worth continuing with Warframe? Does it get better?

I've always been of the opinion that Warframe has more in common with Path of Exile and Diablo style games than Destiny. So I personally don't see the conflict in playing both. Warframe doesn't charge for content updates either, so it's not even as if you need to decide between buying Destiny DLC or Warframe.

I jumped off WF after 2000+ hours because it has no real endgame, it is a constant grind so you can grind better. It is fun until and when you reach a certain threshold where you can wipe the map or see funny damage numbers, but that is all you do, no raids, dungeons or challenging content, same type of missions on repeat.

I've considered playing Warframe a few times but every time i look at stuff it looks like i need a doctorate to figure out their crafting system between collecting a dozen components from a dozen places to all the time gated progression and then I say forget it.

Destiny 2 is just play something to get something you don't need to jump through a dozen hoops to get a specific item you just do the specific activity and grind for it.

It does get better but there's so much to do that it can be tough to find exactly what you should do. As a beginner you should try focusing on completing the full start chart. getting new frames/weapons and completing quests. I'd say try to complete the second dream quest to see how you like it but if you get past it and still aren't enjoying yourself you shouldn't force yourself to keep playing

I've played both and personally, I prefer Destiny 2

Warframe is grindier, has a LOT more Parkour (which makes my aging wrists hurt), and it's 3rd person, which I find a little weird.

Destiny 2 is FPS. Yeah, there's grind there too, but I find it more ... palatable, I also find the physics to be more to my liking. I also find the back story of who and what Guardians are to be a bit less impenetrable.

Just my two cents.

I have played both religiously the beginning is a bit rough and does get better. In warframe you get your power from upgrading mods which are different for every weapon type. also the level on gear just affects how many mods you can put in or high level mods. in destiny you just increase the number more or less of your total gear. Every planet on warframe has its set resources which is where the grind is which can be extremely repetitive. Destiny is much easier to get into and both games have positives and negatives. if you don't play warframe for a year and play again you are right where you stopped playing with more to do. if you do that in destiny you need to spend money again for the expansion then repeat the same playlists and weeklies after the campaign is finished. Destiny is faster to pick back up and easier to get back into. Warframe you basically just build weapons and warframes (characters more or less) and max out equipment to increase your total account rank. You could finish every mission and basically just experiment with different equipment. More or less anything that is not mk1 is usable against everything that isnt high level. (50+ enemies) Once you learn the way status effects affect different factions it becomes much easier in end game.

More variety and builds available in Warframe.
Right now in Destiny 2 everyone have the same builds, it's boring and stale.
No theory crafting here on Destiny 2 compared to Warframe with millions of different possibilities.
I like both games but Warframe is better overall IMHO.

Honestly, play warframe a bit. I have thousands of hours in both games and they both offer me different experiences that i personally look for. It's a nice game to break up the D2 monotony but D2 is also good for when warframe gets monotonous it's own way.

Warframe's barrier to entry is the new player's ability to push through what i deem to be a very confusing new player experience, cool thing is that you don't need to spend a single cent to get almost everything in the game, excluding some cosmetics.

If you're looking for guidance, may i suggest you check out Brozime on youtube and also have a look at his website, Brozime.com. He makes good content overall and tries to guide new players with his free to play videos. The Kengineer is also a pretty good content creator aswell, if you'd like another suggestion.

Admittedly, warframe's just as grindy if not grindier than D2 overall, your ''endgame'' might be something different from someone else's endgame. Warframe's experience can go really high but also low and tedious.

See that's the thing, I'd rather just buy a game like Destiny 2 and be able to jump right into the content and make all 3 characters and get all the subclasses. Warframe takes so much time to actually get into.

Destiny 2 can be a complete experience within 50 hours versus warframe needs 50 hours to start the real experience.

I've been playing WF since 2015 - over 2K hours.

Frankly it just keeps getting worse with every update for the past 3 years.
The latest update - Duviri Paradox? Didn't even download it yet. I just can't be bothered because I know it's just more of the same old Bounty grind - which has been confirmed by one of my friends who play it.

For new players it might be some good fun if you can look past the aboslute lack of actual tutorials - a problem since day 1.
But for veteran players like myself, it's just actual trash.

Hell, the only reason I didn't uninstall it yet is because I invested more money than I'd like to admit.
