We were promised a better and bigger story campaign than Witch Queen, but we were given shorter missions with almost no mechanics, with almost no changes in the environments, and which doesn't answer any questions, but only asks more questions. I still remember almost all the missions from Witch Queen, here I remember only the first, third and maybe the last. The rest is an unremarkable shooting gallery in the same environment.
We were promised a neon cyberpunk city, but in fact that city is somewhere out there on the horizon, and of the entire playable area just one-third is more or less looks like a city.
And we got a raid that puts the very name "raid" to shame. There are more complicated and interesting mechanics in some dungeons than in this disgrace.
And that's not even talking about the weapons, which are almost all a reuse and reskin of the old guns. Reskins in the most expensive expansion in Destiny history. So yeah, I think Lightfall deserves all the hate.
But this one is definitely not as terrible as steam rating reviews, maybe 6.5, 7/10
Compared to S19 - the most solo friendly - the difficulty gap is large for me. The game went from hard to 'insane hard' for me. Everything I load in has to be meta with full synergy or just forget even going, because its a sweatfest.
But I still fail to architects, now that I think, it is mostly architects now. Feels like the already overtuned OHK spam, is worse than ever, not even the hardest games do that for the sake of "challenge", because they know ultimately the goal is to provide a form of entertainment.
Strand would be incredible as a new subclass combining the mobility and clear, but the long cooldowns make it feel worse than other subclasses. On the Warlock I have to play twice as hard on Strand, so whats the point ?
I thought that at first, but now I am a few weeks in to playing, I have reversed my initial opinion and think it's horrible.
My main concern is they seem to have just changed everything to the same level of difficulty. There are times when I just want to relax, take it easy, explore and do some weeklies on, and there are also times when I want to attempt something that I know I'm going to get a real challenge. Instead of adding more challenging activities, what they have done is just lift the difficulty of everything upwards. To me, that is a really dumb thing to do because it has made casual activities annoying.
I dunno, I am depressed that I spent so much money on an package that has fundamentally changed the game in a way that is bound to divide the fan-base and drive many of them away from the game.
Campaning was not New supper tutorial like we got now in lightfall.
Its totaly Filler Expansion, you can see that 1st and last cutscene are the same Scene just cut in 2 ;O
Or do you think Witness had The longest in history Stareoff with traveler while we ware doing our "missions"
Seriously, what Bungie releases each year is a lot.
I think the engine has its limitations, that's why they is re-use so many polygons. But that's a theory.
To each their own but I like it. The new subclass, -campaign, -location, activities, all those improvements. Bungie put a lot of work into this DLC. For me, it's just another part of all, and the campaign is just the beginning. I also don't get all the negativity about Nimbus, listening to him is fun.
At the end of the day it's just a game I paid little for, in relation for a whole year of entertainment.
- In my humble opinion.
LOL King's Fall has less...
You know, I'm just glad about another year.
Lightfall is cool, strand is cool, the changes in all class and the artefakt are cool.
U can play now a ton of builds they are strong. not only 2 oder 3 builds.
