They first used the term to refer to the fact that the Light and Darkness ascend Time, which is why the Guardians can succeed against the Vex, who can compute trillions of potential outcomes and time travel to some extent. In D1 it was even explained the Vex have the ability to kill someone in the Black Garden and COMPLETELY REMOVE THEIR EXISTENCE. Not remove all trace of them currently, rewrite the timeline so they never existed in the first place. But Guardians very much have "I kill therefore I am" vibes, and the Light allows them to transcend the laws of our physical universe, because yes, "Magic". Or simply because Light and Darkness must come from another dimension or universe, so they ARE bound by hardset rules, just not ours. From the point of view of the Witness, we must be just as Paracausal to them as they are to us.

I agree, the writing can be trash 90% of the time, and sometimes the writes like to find "big word" for the sake of looking smart.

I see now. I didn't mean what does paracasual mean, I meant what does the op's rambling mean? They've been using the term for years and no they didn't just discover it.
