Returning Player - should i delete all my gear?
Hi, returning to Destiny after 3 years away and found my entire vault, weapons and armour are all now 'legacy', so am I just as well deleting all my gear and start again? I realise that i could keep some items for pvp when the power level is 'off'.

Keep your favorites as they're still useful in a lot of stuff like strike playlist, gambit, older dungeons and raids, and most pvp but yeah you might as well dump most of it as you'll find new favorites with new perks and combinations and start deleting old favorites when you start needing vault space and don't use them anymore.

Keeping armor for anything but high stats is pointless with transmog, you can turn any non exotic armor in your collections into normal armor ornaments.

If it's got a grey upper left corner, then yeah, it's sunsetted and can't be higher than 1600.

There are places you can still use the older stuff, but yeah, most of it you'll want to replace. Like Mez said, it's worth keeping some of your favorites, but a lot of it can go.

Thanks a lot both of you for the advice:lunar2019coolpig:
Good luck coming back its absolute garbage rn. They recently nerfed basically anything good that any class had. So if youre a solo player youre gonna have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ time.

just so you know next season we might be able to use Sunset weapons in any activity again so keep your favorite weapons

Keep your favorite weapons, delete all of your armor

The armor is effectively worthless; your can use transmog to turn them into ornaments though, so you'll be able to keep old appearances. As far as weapons go, keep your favorites and delete the rest. Some of those sunset weapons might've been reissued, so you might find a better version of what you already have. Some weapons are also craftable now, though most of the older weapons are not craftable at the moment.

This is False and you have literally no basis to say it's true.

Stop spreading misinformation to people.

There may not be any confirmation but in that case you also can't declare the statement false as you have absolutely no basis to do so.

As the others have said. Keep weapons for sentimental value, because you are coping and hope they come back (Me with my mountain top) or because they look nice. Anything that was subpar 3 years ago or armor you can safely delete.
