Imagine if you were watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy but you never saw the ring or knew why Frodo had to take it to Mordor but all the other characters knew but didn't tell you and constantly saying "you have to do it" so it felt like a overly dramatic hollow journey with no stakes or consequences.
That being said though the subclass is good when you fully unlock it and can build around it and actual gameplay is still a lot of fun and they were clearly going for an action movie feeling, the story missions themselves are entertaining in a just shoot and don't think kind of way but the narrative and pacing sucked.
If you ever enjoyed the game before then get it 50% off and you'll probably have a better experience since you'll have the answers now through the inclusion of the current season. This season (of the deep) should have been the season Lightfall launched with and it might not have been so negative.
They'll never know why they did all this
Uldren suddenly a guardian just hanging out from season of the hunt.
Cabal now our allies (Chosen) and Saladman working for them (Risen)
Fallen chilling in the tower along with the Cabal (Splicer)
Eramis randomly back out of no where (Plunder)
Traveler left the city and Rasputin dead (Seraph)
People coming back for Final shape wondering why Savathun is alive again as an "ally."
Timestamp points to the part of it that explains it in depth. Or watch the whole thing, its very informative.
If you dislike clicking links, just search for "Aztecross Destiny 2 has become a Microtransaction Hell" on google or youtube, and go to 20 minutes 30 seconds mark in the video.
at this point, sometimes i WANT to play and i'll login... then try to load into the tower and often have to sit there for 5 minutes waiting for it to load in... and then it finally does and i sit on a black screen for anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 minutes with sound in the background before i can finally start doing whatever i wanted to do there.... by then i'm already so annoyed with it that i just shut the game down. 50% of your time playing is looking at loading screens as it is and these "little" issues are ruining peoples' desire to even login and deal with it.
hopefully some of what is in the leaks for the next few seasons ends up being true since it would potentially breathe some fresh air into the game, but i remain skeptical at this point and will not, for the first time, pre-order another expansion once its available to do so and will just wait to see what the judgement ends up being for the Final Shape before diving in, if at all.
As another side effect, doing that also increased game stability due to peer to peer hosting they use, it eliminated all the kicks to orbit that would happen due to NAT conflicts between host player and others in the same zone.
They drop just fine from public events and heroic patrols. Getting the specific red borders you want can be a pain but you should get at least 1 copy of each weapon from the campaign mission and the zero/hero questline.
D2 is P2W because hypothetically someone could pay $100 at the very start of the season to get XP for the artifact 12%/20% faster for a few days compared to another player? Or that for the same price you could hypothetically get a version of a weapon that is marginally better a few weeks faster than another player might? That makes it P2W?
