wanna know if lightfall is worth the money

i played the free mission for lightfall and thought it was really cool, however i dont like the idea of spending money on the game and i generally dont have alot of money + the main thing that pushes me away is the price

so i wanna know (preferably from people who have played lightfall) if its even worth it to buy the DLC at all

It is worth it on sale. If you can get it for 20 or 24 next sale not a bad nab for that amount of money.

Isn't the rating on the Steam page enough? It's from players who have played the expansion.

It's terrible. Bad story campaign with cringe characters and filler story, simple and boring raid, unremarkable location which is suffocating to be in because of the level of opponents. The only good thing in the expansion is a new subclass and Quicksilver storm auto rifle. People say it's worth buying at a discount? Well, I think it's worth waiting for Lightfall to be added to a bundle with other expansions and THEN buy that bundle at a discount. This expansion is a scam.

Like I said more than enough fair content at 20 or so... Get it on sale just stay under the return time and get refunded if you don't like it.Matter of fact I would make that the best option you have and avoid the terrible steam ratings and reviews full of nonsense and illogical expectations...I am sure enough tho you won't return it

If you don't want to spend money on a game, well ... this is definitely a game to avoid then. About 90% of the story based content is going to be behind paywalls. This game doesn't use a Whale-centric model. Everyone pays, everyone pays the same. If you're looking for a "free" experience then this definitely isn't the game for that. (However, I will also point out that FTP is a business model. No FTP game is really free. Every company that uses an FTP model has very, very carefully monetized every single customer, one way or another).

Is Lightfall "worth it"? Sure. That said, I don't enjoy it nearly as much as I enjoyed Witch Queen.

If you're going to buy anything, I'd suggest waiting for a sale, generally they happen at least once per season.

Never buy destiny dlc when its not on sale. that being said, Lightfall is not worth full price. Buy if you absolutely feel like you want more content. Otherwise, I'd advise you to play some other F2P game while waiting for the next sale.

I'm not saying anything everyone else hasn't already, but I'll throw my hat in the ring none the less.

I recently got back into D2 after missing multiple seasons and 3 campaigns. Of the 3 newest ones Witch Queen was definitely a highlight but I didn't hate any of them. Light Fall is certainly frustrating, though I was excited for strand I will say being forced into it was numbing after a while. Outside of that the story is a bit lack luster, I guess I'm just not a fan of Osiris, but I still had a good time. The other characters outside of Osiris aren't as deplorable as others make them out to be- though they aren't great either.

If you want to play Destiny casually, you don't need this expansion. Strand is fun, it's rewarding to be caught up with the story if you care, but It really isn't a need if you are hesitant about spending money right now and have other DLC / Activities to satiate your D2 hunger. It's worth buying on sale, but as a hesitant spender I only buy D2 DLC on sale, even if it's Witch Queen / Forsaken level quality.

TLDR: Not as awful as the community would lead to believe (as far as my casual opinion is concerned) but I would advise waiting for a pretty solid sale if you too are a casual player and okay with being "behind" on some stuff.

very short campaign, good exotic assault rifle, side arm that's actually fun to mess around with, new exotic helm for hunters is fun too, new subclass is nice too, really enjoyable freedom of movement, plot is eh, much like an intermission episode where we learn about some traveller related lore, all explained in more detail in the season 21 plot line.

Get it on sale for sure.

Ah the perfect D2 player, hates Destiny, calls Lightfall a scam, tells you not to spend money on it... but has 5,555 hrs under their belt lol. Never trust Steam reviews. Angry gamers just review bomb titles when they are butt hurt and disappointed... D2 players are the worst for this. Look at the recent discussions, Destiny is down for 2 hours for weekly maintenance, players go online and call Destiny the worst yet can't wait to get back to it.

At the end of the day, as with anything in gaming it's all a matter of perspective. If you have the spare cash and enjoy Destiny, just get it. Nobody here can tell you if you'll enjoy it or not and if it's worth your money.

Okay, bro, and? I have 5555 hours, a nice number by the way. And why aren't you talking about the fact that I've spent barely more than an hour in the game in the last 2 months? Why didn't you mention it if my hours are so important to you? And what are you trying to say? So if I played a game when it was good, I can't criticize it when it's bad? How does that even work? its not, i didn't spend anything on my copy of lightfall and i think its the second worst dlc we have gotten with some the the laziest seasons so far. avoid this game at all costs and just save the money for something better or more important

Wait for a sale if you can, with this current season (of the deep) I'd say its worth it because you get a better season with some actual answers to carry the worst part of Lightfall being the lack of answers.

wait for it to go on sale, then buy it from {LINK REMOVED}G2A.com, get anything for this game for damn near free, because this game otherwise isnt worth a damn. Its all the same thing over and over again, they just use RNG to make you have to sit there and grind things for "replay-ability", and the "NEW" things added with DLSc and what not are literally the same ♥♥♥♥ re-skinned, or RE-USED.
