the whole of "desperate measures" is terribly designed.
i feel less like spiderman, and more like spooderman, spidermans special ed cousin
genuinely hate the new power, simply by association to the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ map design

Beat it on legendary. Died a stupid amount of times and 80% of those deaths were instant due to falls. And most of those were from strand ♥♥♥♥ ups. If you are still having difficulties, Osteo Striga really works on Calus

Its fun to build into but in the scenario of the campaign and being forced into sucks.

You do not have to use strand to start the fight, i finished it being void.

yeah. now that i have it and everything unlocked its fun to CC an entire room as titan but being forced to use it without any fragments or aspects during campaign was ass. really started to make me hate the new subclass before even unlocking it

(I played on Warlock)
The Calus fight appears to be designed to be deeply unfair if you try to find a "safe spot" and to force you to keep moving. I noticed if you walk around the inner platform's edge while shooting at Calus he'll stand still taking the damage and bout 90% of the shots fired from the outer platforms miss. The Psion spawns are easy to deal with. need to heal up? just run back and forth between the small barriers then resume the strafe shooting.

It gets rough when the Tormentors spawn since they can punt/nullify you just by landing a hit near you and that combo kills.

I didn't get much luck trying phase 2 on legendary as phase 1 was a hard block. I swapped to normal to complete it, then later did the cheese tactic on legendary. I feel dirty....

When my comrades eventually reach there on coop we'll figure it out. But it seems Bungie needs to do some more "fine tuning" on it.

It definitely wasn't player friendly, specifically on legendary. I get that the room is set up that way to encourage using Strand, but giving us only the basic version to use really hinders it in the long run since there isn't much synergy to work with. It makes Phase 1 in particular really bad because there's so many (continually respawning) enemies shooting you on top of Calus's "cover-breaking" abilities, so getting enough downtime to focus on Calus long enough to do reasonable damage becomes more and more tedious. The Tormentors spawning in during each third of his health gone doesn't help either. Phase 2 isn't too bad, even on Legend, provided the Tormentors are dead/incapacitated; I think Strand works very well here compared to before.

What i disliked about the mission design was Calus himself, he just stands there with his minigun and doesn't do anything else besides popping his body armor once or twice. Phase 2 is just him running around with 2 swords and nothing else, the entire fight with him is a joke. Calus is a great character but falls flat in that fight.. Feels like bungie just threw him in there and called it a day instead of making him special like he should've been.. Calus as a raid boss is much harder and overall way better designed because he actually does stuff there... Heck, his raid version from back in the day actually had powers that he used quite often... Meanwhile in the final mission here, he's just a bullet sponge sandbag...

I like Calus but it was just a complete letdown.. Bungie should've done more with him in that mission.. His second phase also has barely any hp for some reason, his first phase has a pretty big hp pool but his second 'form' has like less then half of it.

Strand in that mission is also severely weak so i wouldn't recommend using it. Just use witherhoard and chug a few fusion grenades on him while running in a circle and you should be fine, just make sure that you kill the tormentors first before going in the second phase of the fight as those tormentors are a real pain in the ass if you let them roam free. Especially if you leave both of them alive.

You know, it makes me wonder if his Psionic powers were restricted to the Leviathan, as I don't recall him ever having them prior to his exile.

That could be a posibility.

Green web Spider Man. They think about him.

The reason Calus Boss Arena feels bad is because it was quite literally built in design for strand.

For the 2nd part idk what the hell they was trying to do there, Aint nothing like getting up close to ya know, calus himself along with the 2 tormentors if you didnt kill them before 2nd phase started.

Someone should tell them that adding a huge amount of health to a boss and no mechanics ( other than falling off the level ) is not a good recipe.

I disappoint this fight. I think this Calus boss fight not thing more than just do damage, not any special mechanic to play with like VS Savatun in whichqueen. In WC DLC it's far more exciting fight with boss.
