Insufficient privilege when trying to claim a gift

my friend gifted me lightfall+annual pass upgrade but i cant claim it due to insufficient privilege. for the record i already have destiny 2 installed and updated

Same, just got gifted Lightfall+Annual Pass from a friend and viewer and got the same error.

First open the Lightfall DLC gift, then the Lightfall Annual Pass gift. These are two different things.

Did you actually get the full lightfall expansion + annual pass or did you only get the annual edition upgrade? You need Lightfall itself to claim the annual edition upgrade which does not include Lightfall itself.

i think i know what happened there. same thing here. i gifted the annual pass UPGRADE to my friend since i already own lightfall. the error then occurs because he didnt get lightfall but just the upgrade. make sure you gift the complete thing.
