I did the Dungeon where you can get Wishender Solo. Did the puzzle and everything myself and completed the Dungeon.

so I play destiny on ps4 (not pc) but no. I've tried to with duality and it's a chore. If you download the companion app and just ask for a carry people will give u a carry

You can do dungeons solo, but it will be harder as a result. With practice, experience, and a good loadout though, it becomes much more bearable.

You also get specific rewards for doing dungeons solo, flawless, and solo flawless (provided you don't leave the activity at all).

As others have said. You can infact do dungeons solo. However this requires serious skill and knowledge of the game which is shown by the fact there are special emblems and titles achievable only by doing a dungeon solo.
discord.gg/d2lfg use this link. It will take you to the main lfg place for destiny. You can within 5 minutes have a group lined up to do a dungeon. Not only that but because dungeons as a 3 man are actually pretty easy most people run them without vc so if you are scared about that then rest easy.

You can most likely do the dungeons with practice, a build ( carry gear for each major encounter) and ***most importantly have to be able to endure them a lot longer***, as they are made for 3 players: so no scaling, that means more boss phases or run a very glass cannon build and take much greater risk, which usually ends up the same, having to do a lot of phases... it is mostly an endurance test if you go solo.

Teams are having it exponentially easier, they can run tanky builds and still do it in a few boss phases, with cross buffs, heals, revives so no need to redo entire runs on fail.

Oh and dont buy into the streamers "everyone can do this easy", those are click/view farms, most of those players have done it 100s of times, and or have raid/artifice loot, and likely can spend half days optimizing loadouts, etc.

Oddly I did the Wishender Dungeon faster Solo than with a Fireteam. Hell, even did the Wishender puzzle solo and it went faster.
