I find the same thing, as well as other things in Comp which is worse for certain things than Quickplay.
Unfortunately you can play Comp and win 1 game and then go a 10 game loss streak and Bungie do not care because they have you playing Comp.
It's the same with Trials, Skill is not taken in to account in that because if it was I would never in this world match the likes of Frostbolt etc but I have matched them.
B) K/D has nothing to do with skill, everyone has good and bad games and that player could usually be a bad player but they may be able to land their shots better in some instances leading to a higher K/D against worse players.
Interesting. I'd argue that "B" cases would be outliers and discarded from the calculation. Shouldn't be too hard to get an average while discarding X percentage of high and X percentage of low games (say 3-5%?).
I'd also be curious to know if the OP is talking about those first few placement matches and where they placed him.
