Nominally the four most dominate are the ones shown on the Shader icon, although this is not always the case, shaders do (seem to) consist of more than 4 colors.
Each class is different. Titans (as a class) tend to favor the brighter colors, or more to the point, tend to apply the brighter colors in a shader as the ones that cover more surface area. Hunters are more likely to favor the darker ones. I'm not really sure which ones the Warlocks favor.
In addition, each piece of armor (or Universal Ornament) is also different. So you might put on two different helms that look almost the same, and apply the same shader to each. One of the two helms might end up bright, with dark accents, the other might end up dark, with bright accents (although that's a bit of an extreme example).
If you're looking for "dark" shaders for Hunters ... hmm ...
Abyssinian Gold comes to mind.
Skele-Ghaul
Boreal Char
Horizons Beyond
Darkwater Froth
Midnight Exigent
Give those a try, some of them might work for you.
You have the 4 visible colours in it, which somewhat get applied as primary/secondary/tertiary/quaternary. Which kinda depends how many zones an armour piece has gotten asigned.
But there are also materials assigned to the colours in a shader. Like cloth/leather/metal. A metal colour is more likely to get assigned to the metal part of armour, but not guaranteed. It can also assign the metal colour to the leather part of an armour, making it look like shiney plastic.
And after that there's also a hidden colour in a shader. A famous is Jacarina, where suddenly a bright blue pops out of nowhere.
