Destiny 2 Buying Guide

I'm considering investing time in D2. Can anyone help me choose which expansion/DLC to buy?

Is everything unlocked up to the latest update/expansion, or do I have to buy absolutely everything to have everything unlocked?

If so, which expansions do you recommend the most?

You can get a very long way just buying the Witch Queen expansion. You should play that one first.

Problem: sometimes the game might rotate some PVE dungeon lists into 'old zones' and then you can't enter that dungeon / do vanguard lists.

That was enough for me to buy the remaining 2 active DLC when they were in discount.

Other stuff you could get:
Seaons pass, some extra gear, not very important imo.
Dungeon pass, some extra dungeons. I can't even get the normal dungeons done every week.
30th anniversary: some more stuff. Nice to have and probably for the ultracompetitve.

You can play any normal strike as long as it's in the strike playlist. Nightfall strikes are not like that.

Thanks. That was something I was also wondering. Might go with the Witch Queen and call it a day.
