That tells me that Warminds were around before humanity's contact with the Vex.
Personally? I prefer to imagine that Rasputin's history goes all the way back to Durandal, Leela and Tycho. (but there's nothing to back that up, it's just me cheerfully recalling all the fun I had in Marathon 2: Durandal).
Half Wrong.
Beyond Light lore states that Exos didn't exist until Clovis Bray captured Vex and drained them of their Vex Milk and mixed it with Darkness to make a new substance that is in Exos and stops them from going crazy and ripping themselves apart.
Half wrong yourself. Exo's as we know them now didn't exist till that point but Exo's existed before that point.
Clovis, under the influence of 'Clarity' (the spooky statue before the Atraks encounter in Deep Stone Crypt) arranged for a 'live' Vex to be stolen from the researchers I mentioned in my previous post. From this, he built the Vex Gate on Europa, and by modifying Vex radiolaria, he created a substance called Alkahest. Exposing Exo hardware to it, solved the above problem.
The 'new' Exos suffered from a similar condition though, 'DER', a slow rejection of their artificial bodies. That could be solved via a reset, and by programming in various human-like quirks and functions, unneccesary for a tireless robot body, (like eating, sleeping) to keep the brain fooled.
So yeah, all 'modern' Exos have a Vex origin, with maybe (?) the single exception of Ada-1, an experimental Exo body created on Earth during the Collapse by the Black Armory founders (one of whom used to work for Clovis, interestingly enough). We don't know for sure though.
