Don't waste time on Grasp Of Avarice
I bought the Anniversary Pack because of a 'bonus' dungeon activity, but this is way beyond hard, it's almost impossible, at least with a sane mind.
The game drops traps in every 5 meters and there's no way to avoid them unless dying a few times and memorize every single trap location, and after death the respawn drops you 3-4 traps back, so the backtracking begins possibly dying again from a trap because you cannot manage a single jump.
It's infuriating because the base game is mostly so easy I almost fall asleep during missions.
So unless you are veeeeery patient, don't waste time and money on this f*cked up dungeon.
You could write that 'git gud, u suck at the game blabla' yeah, that's why I mow through most missions solo without even dying once, not bad level design, no I suck big time sure... XD

you mow through most missions without dying just like everyone else because they are easier, raid/dungeons actually take discipline and talent to learn and complete

Yeah and a handful of Xanax won't hurt either. :D

Oh forgot to mention that the mode says Fireteam 1-3, but when I start, the lobby never waits, it immediately starts the activitity, so unless I have a fixed party I must do it solo.

Its a dungeon designed for 3 people and you need to find your own group.

Bungie's fireteam finder and the d2lfg discord are both good options.

Except yeah, that's exactly the case.
Until now you haven't played a single activity which was actually challenging to any degree, you were playing bottom of the barrel activities that any casual player can enjoy. As soon as you stepped foot in here, you got screwed.
This was your first taste of how Destiny can step up its game. All dungeons are like that, all raids are like that, depending on the difficulty level Nightfalls are like that. This is higher tier PvE, not patrol-level crap.

//edit: Unless you literally only mean the platforming sections and nothing else. In that case... use a guide? The traps aren't random..

I play Destiny 2 solo, always have, so I'm fckd. Besides I paid for the weapons, armos etc. why cannot I use them immediately, why do I need to grind for the content I paid for?
It's like when buying a shirt, but you have to climb the store building to get your already purchased shirt on the roof. Laughable isn't it?

It's really not laughable when you open your eyes and realize you're playing an mmo and not call of duty
What a pointless topic! The dungeons are one of the best things in the game and aimed for more experienced players that love puzzlesolving/platforming and fighting. This is why there is no matchmaking but you can easily find a team with Fireteam search. I agree the dungeons are hard but i completed them all numerous times and it's amazingly fun! Don't go and tear it down, it's not the dev fault you just suck in the game. Dungeons are harder pieces of content deal with it, get a good group or just unistall and find something that's more for you instead of complaining about nothing

imagine crying on a steam forum because you can't be bothered to learn the mechanics of a dungeon, bro it would take you less that 5 mins to find people to do this with and maybe if you actually learnt then you would be saying it's nearly impossible

How should I know what to do? I know youtube videos, but do I really need to rely on videos to learn the mechanics of this dungeon? invincible enemies, orbs that do...something? How should I know what to do?

Tried it with 2 ppl and we died continuously, so yeah nearly impossible.

It's easy once you know what to do, but clearly you don't. Learn how to do it by yourself, or search up a guide.

When the dungeon first released, me and two clan mates went into it completely blind not having a clue how to do anything. We came out victorious after a couple of hours. We learnt what to do as we went. It isn't hard. You just need to have friends you play with regularly or find an LFG group that wants to do it and is willing to teach.

Join a clan, it'll help a lot.

GoA is a bit trolly with the traps but that's what gives it some of it's appeal is finding your way through. It def would be less fun solo first time because you cant laugh at your friends falling for all the goofy traps. Saying it's impossible and you haven't even gotten to the ogre yet is a bit of a joke tho. The start of the dungeon up to ogre should take less than 30 mins max to figure out your way there, the traps are pretty straightforward. I would suggest finding some people to help you along if you're struggling though.

I got through it more than once with just me and one of my grandsons, I suck, so it must be doable.

I know it sounds extreme but you could try I dunno, thinking? I beat this dungeon day 1 in an hour and 3 minutes with no guides, it really isn't that hard.
